Well, that's made me break my posting hiatus......

Really I want to question all those who were going 'amazing first half'. Get fucking real, it was a lethal opening first 15 mins, after that it was rubbish stuff. Even as the first half went on we were wide open, had four stood up doing fuck all defensively, less than diligent in our application, and were giving West Ham encouragement they could grab some goals back. The second half was just more of the same but worse. All round fucking lazy stuff. And no one did anything about it.

Mourinho never got a grip either tbh, we were going through the motions and nothing changed from the sidelines, some subs happened (mainly as if they were scripted, whether necessary/needed/wise or not), we still went through the motions, eventually it got punished.

The goals were perfect examples of an hour plus of laziness and taking our eye off it. Sissoko just doesn't bother challenging with his man. The second I see everyone blaming Sanchez - more like Moura has been on the pitch 2 minutes and just doesn't bother to go back in with his man and leaves him to nobody and so they're at point blank range firing a ball across the face of goal. Ok the third is a wonder goal, but we see idiotic players giving away the ball and giving away dumb free kicks to invite more pressure. These were just a late punishment of stuff we'd been doing for most of the game by that point.

The ending might have been freak, plus Bale really should have wrapped it, but we got punished for as a collective doing nothing to tighten up and kept inviting West Ham to get back into the game, increasingly stopped playing, and eventually got a massive punch about the face for 75 minutes of relative shit.

In general everyone has been buzzing (mainly due to one result and transfer junkie cravings being fulfilled) but I don't particularly like what I have seen so far and find it really unconvincing still. Lethal on the fast transitions in a few phases of play, but really this is more Redknapp-esque chaos open bollocks football than anything else - which I never thought I'd say about a Mourinho team. We'll score plenty, but we look wide open to also get fucked a plenty whenever the opposition has the ball. Even against United the first 25 mins it was end to end chaos, where every pass for both teams got them through midfield and at the back four, until they spectacularly imploded. You might have some good days playing like this, and murder cannon fodder opposition, but I don't see it achieving much ultimately. We must tighten up, and must control games better.

great post

It’s so odd, first half I enjoyed a lot and was finally starting to really warm to Jose and this style of football. We were fast, played nice one touch football and had control of the ball most of the time. Then second half I was reminded why I dislike him, it was the same stale long hoof ball tactics that is so easy to take advantage of followed by some poor subs. I really hope we move on from this in a positive fashion but this was a bad result that shows our soft underbelly again. Without Lo Celso or Ndombele we look so so poor.
Yeah, without Lo Celso or Ndombele we're no better than the Everton game.

I am sick of Sanchez costing us every week. Sick of it. Stop protecting him. Gave away a stupid penalty v United. Own goal and shaky all day today.

How many times are we going to see it? Hes absolutely shit

The problem is this clown is going to be with us for a long long time as Levy is nit going to take a hig loss selling him

I just never feel safe with Sanchez at the back, even if he has a good game, I just don't feel safe. Just plays like someone who has a mistake in him regardless of the performance. You compare him to Alderweireld, who unfortunately has slowed down which can get him into trouble but he's so much more calm and composed and it's reflected in his game.

For Sissoko to not challenge that header for the first goal too. No surprise that those two played a part in the downfall.

Although if I'm honest, the way we conceded the game was more disappointing than the individual mistakes. Should have been a 5 or 6-0 game not a 3-3.

That's how I feel with Sanchez...just breeds that uncertainty in the backline.

We suffered when N'dombele went out but his influence was waning and he was clearly tired.

Winks is nowhere near good enough but the tactical decision that compounded that was him being the deepest midfielder.

Also taking off Son was lunacy.

Still can't get over that we didn't continue the Harry deep and Son running in behind from the first half, I really want to know who pushed for Kane to go up top in search of his hattrick as it did us zero favours.

Even with all those tactical errors, 10 minutes left and 3 nil up - inexcusable from a group of highly experienced professionals.

It was clear throughout though that we were defensively open and they were getting far too many balls into the box.

It all started going to shit second half because there was zero intensity from the front three. All of them were running around half hearted.

We go from being just about 4-0 up, and then Sissoko gives away the first needless free kick. Then both he and Sanchez conspire to let their defender score.

Then they attack down our left, as Reg is in isolation with no help. Sanchez then makes another catastrophic mistake. Bale then has a lovely run, and misses a shot he makes 99 times out of 100.

Then Aurier gives away a stupid foul... yes, it was a soft one, but the ref was giving them that call all game long. Aurier fucked up his touch and then went in from behind when it wasn’t needed. They take their kick, we somehow can’t clear it from our area, and then Winks tries to FUCKING dribble the ball out instead of hoofing it, and it falls nicely to Lanzini, and then boom... best shot of his life.

Jose haters can hate all they want, but no coach in the world could have drawn up a game plan to account for moments of inexplicable stupidity.

That shit needs to stop right now. Last game that should happen.

stunning how Newcastle and West Ham have both come away with a point from games they had no business getting anything out of.

if we cant stop this trend, then there is 0 chance we can challenge for the title and only a 20% chance of finishing in the top 4.

Our game management is so awful, was same vs Newcastle, needless free kicks

Really the freekick leading to goals in both games have been utter horseshit. We've also been denied penalities in both games that defy any sense of consistency in refereeing across the two matches.

We lost that because Sissoko and Aurier just don't have football brains. When it matters, when it really matters, what do they do. Give away 2 fucking stupid freekicks. Its basics....they're going away from goal, don't foul. Sissoko then doesn't jump for the goal.

You can't compensate for that. We may have let them onto us but its those fucking individual stupid fuck ups that will cost us dearly

My area has just moved in to tier 4 which means as well as not going out for at least a month, not looking at phone or any social media.

Well if that's what the government says, then i abide by those rules. :bag:

2 home matches in a row. Injury time. Given free kicks that never fouls. Goodness i have phobias now.

The problem is that it was never a free kick, shocking decision. Then you have Ogbonna pushing Winks for their goal. No whiff of a VAR check for what was a pretty clear foul imo.

Defensively we are poor. Neither Sanchez nor Alderweirald are able to play on the left side as CB's. Right side, or not at all. Where's Ledley? Two more goals and several other chances from balls coming in from Lloris' right. We haven't a clue. No one trying to win the ball. All reacting. Chasing attackers. It's not that complicated. Just attack the ball. Want it more. If you get to the ball first, the attacker can't. Winks, far too cute. All the play needed was the ball hoofed up the park. Instead, cutesy play to push it in to space and the ball is in the back of the net. Sissoko, Winks, Moura all give the ball away far too often. Bale is not in game shape. That said, he should be far better positionally than that.

Up by three with 15 to go. There is no excuse. Just hold on to the ball and play at the other end. Defence wins. This is up to Mourinho to sort. Far too many loose passes and headers. Far too many times attackers want the ball more than the defenders. Just not acceptable.

We were giving away free kicks and corners like it was trick or treat already and they were candy!

Abysmal game management on (and off) the pitch.

Im done being annoyed (not really but dont want to waste my night). Still got a point lucky not to lose all three the way we were looking towards the end. LASK at home plenty of time to practice set pieces in that game then away to Burnley where all the practice mid week will be needed.

I can offer nothing but total agreement. I said to my mate at halftime, that despite winning, we looked fairly open and playing like we were stuck in gear and the 3 goal lead we'd built up needed at least a 4th before I felt comfortable. The positive though is that going forward we look capable of scoring at will, and we have some influential players to come back. The negatives, though are quite problematic and need sorting before we can honestly say we look good.
