Not really sure what JM is supposed to do. The players and squad look knackered. Club feels soulless. Just so bored watching this team. But I don’t blame JM for that. Other than the Champions league quarters and semis last season, it’s pretty much been miserable for 18 months.

Aurier can jog on after that half. I know he's up against quality players but repeatedly jogging back when you've been bypassed is not acceptable.

I hope we get shot of him in the summer, too often our midfield or centre backs get dragged out of position covering for him leaving holes everywhere. It was same under Poch, if it's true he had a club after him in January I'd have got rid there and then, now we'll probably be stuck with him for the foreseeable sadly.

Well, yes, I get your point. You're totally right. But, with Kane and Son it would probably be quite different now. I don't think we should focus on CL now, actually. Even though it gives cash to the box, we are better off focusing on next year and being 4th or 5th in PL now and hopefully winning the FA-cup. That's my opinion.

When did we become this win at all costs club?

This is Spurs FFS!
I wish we were a Win At All Costs club. We've won two League Cups in the 25 years I've been watching us, and I'd swap 'traditional' Spurs football for a bit more success every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I'm definitely in the "I'd prefer to see us win 1-0 than lose 4-3" camp.

All the talk is about missing Harry and Sonny which is very true but our midfield is also missing Sissoko big time, his work rate and covering is sorely missed..

I think it’s the complete opposite. We are missing a fully fit Ndombele. Sissoko is a headless chicken who makes other players play worse. It’s no coincidence we’ve been unbeaten with him out of the team. As he showed tonight and previously, he’s the player we need to be starting every game. Fuck knows what’s up with him physically but it’s really killing us.

I've been a Spurs supporter since 1989. 31 years. The FA-cup trophy of 1991 is something I still dream about. Tells everything.. Pathetic.

What’s pathetic mate as @scat1620 was agreeing with you I think... I’m in same boat as you 31yr fan, I’d like some tin pots now whichever way they come. Then we can go back to pretty football but winning f all.

Historically, culturally we have never been that club.

Audere est facere

The game is about glory.

I think he's saying our trophy haul since he's been watching is pathetic. And while I might not quite use that word myself, it's not like I don't agree with the general sentiment.

The first 70 minutes with all those hopeful long balls were horrifying to watch. It should be opposing teams who are scared to come to the Lane, not our own fans.

Glory is winning things, not nearly winning them in an entertaining fashion, IMO. I don't like the cultural aspect of our club that celebrates failure, and I hope our culture changes accordingly.

Disgraceful scenes,

just to think the whole of the world was watching us play like that.

Even the most optimistic spurs fan couldn’t expect us to hit the ground running. We’ve gutted our midfield over the past 2 seasons but we’re still improving slowly. Lo celso is twice the player Eriksen became towards the end and he can be so much better. Today our free kicks and corners were excellent, granted we had to defend for most of the game but this spurs side can handle a battering and Rb are a well drilled team. We’ve set up nicely for another memorable champions league night in a few weeks...there’s so much to be positive about, will we see a fully fit spurs team this season? Maybe not but we are giving it our all. COYS

It does'nt celebrate failure, it celebrates winning in style, in the right way.

It's what lasting football history is about.

I suggest you chose the wrong club to support.

It absolutely does celebrate failure, there's a pretty famous Bill Nic quote you might have heard on that very subject...

Must pay attention in class, Sissoko injured against Southampton on 1st January , on 11th January we played Liverpool they scored one goal we didn't score any , think that counts as losing unless there has been a VAR reversal of the result.

On train home and pondering tonight’s game. Maybe I’m a glass half full kind of person but I honestly feel that with Son or Kane we could have nicked that game. They definitely had weaknesses at the back but we just couldn’t take advantage. Thought Lo Celso, Hugo, Toby and Winks (second half) did well. Obviously some poor performances too. I do worry how this group carry the team for the remainder of the season though - they all looked shot at the end.
