Just got home and put sky’s post match on. Sonny’s interview is very revealing. He blatantly hated playing under Conte last season.

It was noticeable on TV how much he rallied the troops just before kick off. The camera followed him around to most of his high fives and hugs of his teammates. We might have him (and Bissouma) at the perfect time now. This is their big big chance to lead a top team at just the right time in their careers.

Hopefully it lasts and Spurs don't make them jaded, like me!

Maddison wants to make this team his. It was so obvious today. Sometimes everything aligns and a player comes along at the right time.

I do wonder if on the ball if pushing Porro high and wide and Kulu into midfield to give us the extra man is something they would look at

May suit both players .

With the addition of one player and the removal of a legend ,Ange has turned us around in 2 games ;seriously !!

Vlahovic and Orban and get rid of richy.

I have to say that he looks out of his depth, weak on the ball and considering we have quality built around him didn't look like rippling the net again today.

One goal in thirty three games for us.

Whichever system we appear to have played since he has been with us none seem t favour him?

Ange will no doubt give him more starts but we need to bring in an alternative this window, as if Richy doesn't work out we will struggle this season to score enough goals.

In a lot of ways I actually thought there were many similarities to the previous week. Not enough control in the first half, rode our luck defensively a number of times we have to admit, not quite getting the final and definitive decision/action right in the final third, but in the second half managing to gain the upper hand, play some encouraging football, and this week things fell for us and we managed to win the game.

Look we can improve substantially still at both ends of the pitch - it’s the second game of the new regime after all – and there will be different challenges ahead (that midfield today for instance was perfect in a fairly stretched game against United’s undermanned centre, sloth-like selections, and disorganised ranks and just tore through it at will, but I still say we will need different selections and solutions up against the bus parkers, like we saw last week), but what can you say apart from it’s refreshing and encouraging to see the foundations being laid down bit by bit and trying to play some football, control the ball/game and impose ourselves on the opposition, and seeing the possession, positional, and attacking concepts take shape and an ethos of freedom to play and take some risk and enjoy having the football. It’s about bloody time…..

The fans can see something to get behind. Today’s result gives a morale boost and dare I say a bit of Spurs self-esteem back, and was probably badly needed for a lot of people. Just got to keep building game by game over the coming weeks and months. The next few games are going to be different challenges, smaller teams and probably some packed defences we have to break down, I’m looking forward to seeing us sharpen up our work and find the solutions.

Bit cheesed off-on my holibobs in Crete and forgot to pack a spurs shirt. Couldn’t get to see the game so was just following this thread. The bit that cheesed me off was after the F/T result, I saw 3 people in a MU shirt and soooo wished I had my lilywhite on. Did see a young lad with one on tho and just went up to him and gave him a fist bump
I'm on my hols too. In Majorca. I watched the match in the hotel bar but didn't then go and put my Spurs shirt on this evening. I'll stick it on tomorrow and bask in the good vibes then.

Over the moon with the result today. We grew into the game and thoroughly deserved the win by the end. Just so typical we start playing like this when we let our legendary goal scorer leave. We really need a centre forward to lead this line. Great day though

Had my Spurs top on, birthday present from my son, watching in a bar in Puerto Pollença - it was glorious. Made the holiday even better

Finally we have a team that I want to sit and watch, no pressure to do anything this season just wanna see what Ange can do with the team, Bissouma looks incredible, Sarr brilliant, Maddison pulling strings, we’ve got our Spurs back, sign a striker and I’ll be real excited #spurs

Good game. We are building and improving.

VDV was very nervous but settled, Porros positing first half was horrendous. We gave up some huge chances.

My biggest worry is our front 3 just look so poor. When they get on the ball they just don’t cause fear. Kulu is just too slow. He needs to either play 10 or be a sub against tired defences. We need s striker and another winger badly
I actually thought kulu was much better this game, went outside more often than cutting back inside which created more chances
