Im all aboard the Neville hate train but he has mentioned he loves the way we play despite the injuries and they’ve mentioned the fullbacks playing as centre backs.

He’s not been too bad this game.

The lack of attacking the last 10 minutes came from Deki having to come deep to receive the ball because Bissouma is not able to take anything on the half turn today. Suddenly there's a huge gap between our back line and attackers and we have no options. Our entire attacking system is built on that number 6 being confident and decisive on the ball. Need the best of Yves this half or we're losing by 5
And Biss never compliments well with Hojbjerg. So I don't think Hojbjerg coming on is the answer. I wish Donley can just come on and play the Maddison role.

There's a case for that imo over him playing in midfield, but wherever he'd come on including CM he's still a square peg with how Ange wants us to play.

I'm actually a fan of PEH btw and in Italy or for someone like Athletico I think he'd be a very good player again.
Hojbjerg is a solid top half PL player but I agree this system really exposes his achilles heel which is tight spaces and shimmying away from pressure.

If you consider the injury crisis we have it’s a bit disappointing that we don’t feel there are any youth worthy of a chance. Despite the endless promises i think our academy has been underwhelming given the supposed investment in it.
This probably isn’t the game for them but I do agree surely we have a few youth players who deserve a chance given our injuries as we know what some of these senior pros level is at and we know the ones who aren’t good enough, I’d be interested if any of the youth set-up would be much worse but for defenders it’s high risk throwing them in in certain games, less pressure on a midfielder or striker.

It's one thing if we're getting caught out with a high line or from overly aggressive pressing but we've been giving the ball away carelessly which we're getting punished for.

Emerson is having a mare and Bissouma was badly ball watching for the second goal instead of tracking his runner. We might nick a second goal if we get lucky but can't really see us not conceding again at this rate.

We're just so short of options to change things though. Some of Gil's hold up play has been good but he's had no attacking edge and stands no chance against Walker's pace. Hojbjerg might offer a bit more protection for the defence

On the plus side - Kulu looking decent in the middle again.

Biss is getting a lot of stick, but he's basically on his own Gio hasn't helped him out at all

Neville seems to be willing spurs to fail this season. He’s so negative about us. No mention of the injuries as mitigation.
Yep, and I hope people don’t fall for this bullshit. Could you imagine us the last few years if we’d faced this many injuries? We’d have stood no chance.

Gil off for Hojbjerg.

Would imagine it's pushing Deki wide right, Johnson left.

Hojbjerg on for Bryan. Right one off, wrong one on in my opinion.

Should be Donley.

PEH hopefully playing as the 8 here. Can see his power being useful driving forward. If he's the 6 he's going to get the ball nicked off him too much imo

Johnson has to stay on. He can go up top should Son need to come off.

Gil has to be the one to come off.
If Son can play up front for us in this system then so can Johnson. He's got a knack for finding space.

If it’s me, assuming Sonny can carry on I’d be taking Gil off, put PEH on, move Kulu RW and Johnson to LW.

Ange said Richy can only do 5-10 mins and not sure this is the game for Veliz but if Sonny is crocked then it might well be our only choice.

Right let’s go now boys, I like the look of this Balance slightly better now.
