Surely this starting 11 will best answer this mystery around whether it is a tactical choice to begin so slowly.
Deki is about to have a long period without competitive football so surely he should start and we should aim to begin well and sate the supporters at the stadium. I think everyone just wants to see some attempt to take control of a game with positivity.
I am curious whether Conte persists with the 3-5-2 though, as Bissouma has been growing into an important role in the team. His default will be that 3-4-3 of course, but who knows.

Let’s hope the Conte plan is to play like no- hopers until the break and the come back after the WC a completely changed side. He’s been telling everyone to take it easy until after the WC after which we will be buying at least four if the worlds best players.

People from SC going to the game today... please make some noise and get behind Conte and his boys. No matter what happens they need the support for all 90 minutes.. we need to show love to Conte and his team... it's vital that we end this crazy run of games on a high before the WC-break... Imagine what we can do in 2023 when everything is back to normal again and Conte and Paratici get the chance to continue their work together... Dreading this game playing a team who press very hard have lots of energy and determination everything sadly spurs aren't this season. Add to this that most of their players aren't in the world cup unlike spurs.
Expecting very little effort from Kane etc due to being our last game. Sick and tired off our players having one eye on the World Cup yet we pay their wages! Won't excuse lack of effort.

Can you seriously say Kane is showing as much form and effort as last season ? Great player and amazing what he has done for spurs over the years but no player should be excused from putting in effort for the team. Annoys the life out of me when he doesn't run or track back etc zero movement.
Be interesting how he plays for England and us after the World Cup.
This is just my opinion.

Complaining about his lack of goals from open play when he's only scored 2 penalties this season. Saying he doesn't track back, or put in the effort when he's at times been our best defender, midfielder and attacker in games. He's literally played every game for us this season, the guy is absolutely shattered and you've got the bollocks to claim he doesn't put the effort in?

Shouldn’t really need Kane to beat Iran. Southgate can make the most of his squad, play Wilson or Rashford.
More important to ensure he’s fitter come the latter stages of the tournament.
