I think a big issue for us at the moment is getting out of the press , most chances teams are creating against us are from our goal kicks or us trying to pass it out from the back , we were doing first time passes on the turn earlier in the season ...
I think it may also be that at the start of the season opponents had little knowledge of how we position ourselves and what movements and choices we make when playing through the press, but now they've had half a season to study and counter that. It seems like now there are more passes to players immediately under pressure.

Encouraging that we have all of Biss, Maddison, Bentancur, Romero back who are our most press-resistant players. The development of VDV and Sarr is also a positive as they are becoming more comfortable on the ball in those situations.

Sarr went over the barrier. McTominay didn't and neither did Gallagher (though he did try to if you watch it back but was blocked by a steward). DIsasi was booked for his part in the celebrations of Gallagher's goal though.
The barrier is irrelevant. Laws say jumping over the barrier or going into the crowd.
Our ref was the new lad. Villa game Rob Jones, last night Michael Oliver the best ref supposedly.
Just a small point but it’s either a booking or not .
Problem with going into the crowd is that it causes people to come running down , into the ones at the bottom.

I'm not going to argue it. Was pointing out the differences between the celebrations and why one was given as a booking at the other two not. I don't disagree that all three should be yellows really, but since Disasi got booked for Chelsea then the only reasonable explanation is the barrier.

McTominay he got the boards and the crowd flocked to him. Gallagher got stopped at the boarding as fans flocked to the players. Sarr went into the crowd, not the crowd coming to him.

Ange got completely schooled by Gary O’Neil today. All they had to do was get 10 men behind the ball and we didn’t have a clue.

Ange went proper overkill with the subs today. Too many changes all at once, felt totally random. Just because you've got options doesnt mean you've got to use them. More nuance please Ange.
