Last convincing and comfortable game I can remember was Newcastle at homeI do hope we can play a game where we control it and win well. Seems every game is tense and close.
AgreeNot everyone.
I would have left it as it was for another few minutes at least and even then, would've only changed Bentancur for Bissouma (I didn't think Bents was having a good game).
Personally, I thought Werner was doing well and Kulusevski had grown into the game and become one of our better players.
It felt to me like weird subs and almost changing for the sake of it. I know Johnson got the winner and I understand Son coming on but I think Deki was playing the best we've seen for a while.
All three at once was a bit odd for me.
That's the importance of Bissouma, he naturally shields the ball and he's not easy to get the ball off. I'm hoping to see an upturn when he's settled back in.I think a big issue for us at the moment is getting out of the press , most chances teams are creating against us are from our goal kicks or us trying to pass it out from the back , we were doing first time passes on the turn earlier in the season and now we seem to want to control the ball and take touches and the next thing u know Vicario is having to pull off a save , bents , VDV , Udogie all been guilty of trying to overplay in dangerous areas . I appreciate its Ange's style of football but it’s not really working that well at the moment .
Who?Not a next level player sadly
You’re right. I listened on the radio and thought we were getting slaughtered in that first 30 mins. Watched it on Spursplay and Brighton had chances but we were in it. Went off it a bit after the 3 subs but got there in the end. Listed to view from the Lane pod with Danny Kelly and Athletic journalists yesterday. They were saying it’s great to score late for an undeserved victory. Do not understand some people.didn't see the game yesterday so only just watched. going into it i'd only read comments from rival fans and the media who made it sound like brighton battered us and we nicked it ... what a load of shit. brighton started well and had a good spell between 70-85 where they created one very good chance and one half chance but other than that i thought we were clearly well on top and thoroughly deserved to win. i haven't loved some of our recent performances but this was a step in the right direction. romero and sarr the stand outs but they all played their part.
Sarr went over the barrier. McTominay didn't and neither did Gallagher (though he did try to if you watch it back but was blocked by a steward). DIsasi was booked for his part in the celebrations of Gallagher's goal though.Just a point made by Paul Hawksbee on Talksport this afternoon. Sarr was booked for running into the crowd after scoring. Fair enough.
Mctominay for Utd and Connor Gallagher for Chelsea last night, did exactly the same but neither booked.
As far as I am aware running into the crowd has been a booking for a few seasons.
The Gallagher celebration should have been a yellow for sure. He tried to jump onto the advertising hoardings but it seemed too flimsy.Have not seen their interactions with the crowd, but did they go over the advertising barrier like Sarr?
I was out so only kept up to date with BBC sport but yeah, they made it out like they were much the better side. You’re right. I listened on the radio and thought we were getting slaughtered in that first 30 mins. Watched it on Spursplay and Brighton had chances but we were in it. Went off it a bit after the 3 subs but got there in the end. Listed to view from the Lane pod with Danny Kelly and Athletic journalists yesterday. what about the undeserved victories for Villa and West Ham. They didn’t seem too bothered. Take what you get and move on. Yes Brighton play well and are especially good at wasting time. If they can’t score goals that’s their problem. Vicario made two good saves but that’s what he is supposed to do.
.
As always I think emotion (nervousness) plays a part. We didn't look 'in control' so I think it gives off a nervy feeling.didn't see the game yesterday so only just watched. going into it i'd only read comments from rival fans and the media who made it sound like brighton battered us and we nicked it ... what a load of shit. brighton started well and had a good spell between 70-85 where they created one very good chance and one half chance but other than that i thought we were clearly well on top and thoroughly deserved to win. i haven't loved some of our recent performances but this was a step in the right direction. romero and sarr the stand outs but they all played their part.
