Great name.

Hard to say without first team football under his belt until today. Only 17.Bigger prospect than Draxler ?
Given Holtby's impact I really think we should be looking to Germany more often. I could be wrong but I think Holtby was a good player rather than a star, which implies there are lots more like him. So come on the Bundesliga afficianados, Thowig and others, enlighten us with other potential Holtbys.
I've mentioned him twice in this thread. He's not a last shoulder striker, more of a get on the ball and create as well as score. Unfortunately for him this along with being left footed meant the clueless Babbel played him on the left wing for parts of the first half of the season. However to his credit he still performed well and was up near the top in the assists table.Anyone get a chance to watch much of Kevin Volland (Striker - Hoffenheim)?
I keep hearing some decent things about him, but I never get to see much of Hoffenheim.
Would love Rode big time. 8th is a bit OTT from kicker IMO but he has been very good. We've kept an eye on Sebastian Rode for a couple of years, think he could be a great Scott Parker replacement.
Just a year left on his contract, from Eintracht Frankfurt who'll struggle to hold onto him, price should be reasonable - although Bayern show interest as well. 8th best player in Bundesliga this season according to kicker.de
Not sure if I (Or anyone else) has mentioned him yet in the thread, but I still love Jordy Clasie.
I actually thought we might add him in the January window because of his diverse skillset. Capable as both a defensive midfielder and a box-to-box type like Dembele, he'd be a great addition to the side given his experience, youth and his overall talent. He reminds me a ton of Modric - squatty frame, range of passing ability, toughness on the ball, a real heartbeat type of player.
Jordy Clasie - CM - Age 21 - Feyenoord (Eredivisie)

I personally prefer Maher but both are class.
LolWhile I absolutely think very highly of Maher, I think they are quite different actually.
I'd consider Maher a true Attacking Midfielder and Clasie is best suited playing deep and coming forward.
Maher is an incredible talent, one that has that look of magic about him (a la VdV). Clasie is more of an engine/brain/heartbeat (whatever you fancy). He's fully capable of having play run through him and moving forward on the ball and making incisive passes or simply sitting deep and distributing across the pitch.
I think Maher would have a hard time breaking in to the squad now, but Clasie could really become our CM of the future as he is eased in behind Dembele.
I guess we have to face up to the possibility of losing Bale, if that happens and we can get 50+m I want to hope DL will consider spending up to 30m on a replacement. On that basis, and taking into account Bale's newer more roving / goal scoring role I would suggest the following candidates:
1) Marco Reus - I actually think he could be better than Bale, only moved to Dortmund last summer but I'm not sure they could turn down 30m for anyone
2) James Rodriguez - Harder because he is at Porto but would have to be on AVB's list as I think he signed him. Like Bale has drawn comparison with CR7.
3) Stevan Jovetic - closer to Bale's new central role than his old wing role, quality player who will likely leave Fiorentina next summer
4) Angel de Maria - if Bale goes to Madrid then a swap + cash move with AdM could be worth a shout. Quality player and decent goal scorer, outshone CR7 against Manure the other evening.
Would be interested in what Snarl and others have to say, especially those with a knowledge of South American football.
A couple of players I'd like to see us go for are Antoine Griezmann of Sociedad and Alvaro Morata from Real. Morata doesn't get much playing time in the first team (hardly surprising) so may want a move and looks to have some good qualities and strengths. Griezmann really has stepped up the last couple of seasons and looks quality playing winger or am
Of course I'd love us to sign Iker Muniain from Bilbao but I imagine if they were prepared to sell him we'd be a way down the queue
I'd like all of them but they'd probably want a CL regular team and probably command wages out of our reach and/or have more illustrious suitors, sadlyI guess we have to face up to the possibility of losing Bale, if that happens and we can get 50+m I want to hope DL will consider spending up to 30m on a replacement. Germany is the place to scout, the overall quality of the current batch of 16-19 year olds being "produced" is meant to be very high, displaying good physical attributes, technique, team work and maturity.
