We worked the ball into good areas but then the final pass or crucial touch was dreadful.

Son spent the entirety refusing to run at anyone. Kulsevski came on and did that immediately.

Kane cannot play at that standard if he wants to be recognised as elite level.

We are passive at times but we certainly pushed onto them at the start and certain stages.

How many times did Perisic or Emerson fluff a cross?

When they did put good ones in, Kane and Son are nowhere to be found.

Yep we were a good 2-3 short of what we needed but Conte and Paratici know that it’ll take another 2 or so windows.

Sorry but that’s at best a non sequitur and at worst a bullshit excuse. This is a better squad than we finished last season with and it’s playing far worse. We don’t need 2 or 3 more windows to compete with Sporting

I don't get what Conte is seeing in Emerson that the rest of us are missing. I don't get why he's gone from being incredibly proactive with subs to full-Poch. I don't get why we look worse than last season with a better squad and a pre-season.

We have a team of limited players who have finally been caught out I'm so glad that I didn't get to see it.
Fed up with the boring football that goes nowhere and the team is stacked with willing workers but fuck all else.

This is on Conte for making wrong decisions. The CMs and WBs were spent near the end and he should have made some substitutions to maintain the energy.

Also the snobbishness that some fans have over teams not in the big 3 leagues pisses me off, and that some thought this would be an easy three points is frankly delusion. Sporting are a good team (as I said personally they are the second best team in the group), a loss is absolutely not an unexpected result and this group isn't piss easy.

As I said this is a group where we are both favourites but at the same time it wouldn't be surprising if we failed to get out of it. A loss away against the 2nd best team in the group is no crisis, we move on.

Hate this formation in its current form. You need wing backs who are all action and pacey. You need CMs who are fantastic on the ball. You need a Hazard type player who is everywhere linking the lines. I just don’t think personnel wise we’re anywhere near it working. Sticking with it just seems a bit pointless, rather just tried 4231 which suits the personnel much better.

Final ball was terrible most of the night again, we really seem to labor from that final bit of quality. Thought midfield was extremely poor today from center or sides, little came off.

Defensively he’s very very solid far more than Doherty and Spence in Conte’s view isn’t anywhere near ready so it’s probably more of a case of he’s the best we have right now, but yea I’m surprised Doherty has barely had a minute yet, we looked a lot better going forwards with him towards the end of last season, maybe his injury isn’t up to speed to start games yet.

The one touches were terrible. Players looked so lacklustre. Sporting already anticipated our moves.

I really wish Conte can ditch that whole setup soon. It's really not working. Play with speed is better. We have Sess and Spence.

Emerson was literally our best player until the final two minutes.

Which is largely the problem but to say he was "awful" is just wrong, mate.

Some of the passing tonight was absolutely shocking from our midfield & fowards.
Can't believe that we only brought Kulu on.
Should have freshened up the midfield especially after Bentancur & Hojberg were both booked.
