@Pwick0701 do u ever agree with anything that isn't depressingly negative....ever?

We'll he agreed with me me mate and I wasn't being negative just realistic of where and what we are, if we win then great if we lose then not so.
We have to realise that we are competing against teams who are bigger and have better resources than we do, so in all we are doing ok and are where we should be given or take would you not agree?

It was negative, you didn't mention resources or 'where we should be'
Regardless, I wasn't addressing you, I was addressing the wrist slitter.

To be fair I didn't mention it first time of asking as it was so obvious, but I did mention it in my reply.

This has yet another draw written all over it for me we need the win though especially as utd are starting to find form now, we probably will find ourselves in sixth spot rather than fourth.

At the start of the season I was almost certain we would finish 5, and anything more than that and it would feel like we'd really achieved something given the competition in the league this time around.

I still stand by that. If we get 4th this year, I think we're absolutely laughing. That's not to say we shouldn't be giving it 100% (of what's possible at that time) every time we play. Southampton will be a tough game, and if it hadn't come on the back of us drawing a hell of a lot in recent times, it would be an obvious game for us to try and take a point.

Same here I said on here at the start of the season that 5th or 6th is where we would finish and I stand by it.
However if we finish 4th then that represents the best we can hope for right now given our finances available to us.
As for tomorrow's game yes we are capable of winning there but now that the pressure is on with teams around us finding form and picking up points, this is where we usually start to falter once the expectation level goes up.

With a full squad bar Lamela to choose from we'll win 0-2.. have faith.

Even though things really haven't been going for him I still feel better having a different striking option on the bench in Janssen. And he can still be effective without scoring. There aren't many examples unfortunately but I thought he was great in the first half against WBA for instance. Kane probably needs to start putting himself about a bit more and try to get involved. Hate to say it but maybe he should look at Costa a bit and see how he gets himself involved in play.

Course we can win but in equal measure we could lose the strange thing about us this year is that we have not really played that well imo and yet remain in with a shout of 4th, which if we get it has to be seen as an achievement if we can do this object back to back seasons.

As others have said it has become a bit of a must win game to keep in the mix. Although I think we will be saying the same for the rest of the season as the top 6 are pulling away from the rest and will keep winning the majority of their games. If we can get two wins from these next two away games then it will be fantastic.

Looking at the Southampton team, it is not as strong as recent years. Unsuprising I suppose as so many have left. They are a decent team and will probably be fighting for 7th but again as others have said we need to start winning this type of game.

Im hopeful. COYS

Southampton play out a lot from the back and play a possession based game. So with that in mind and the fact that we have had 10 days since the last game, I would like to see us press them high and fast (like Man City home) and I think we could win easily but if we start slow I can see it being a bit of a slog

This has that feeling of an essential win, with every other side in the top 7 winning, which unfortunately over the last year we haven't been able to pull off these big results when they are 100% essential. Especially when playing last as we saw at the end of last season.

Lets hope we've learnt from that, and of course recognise that this lot were part of what fucked us last season. They absolutely hate us and I'm sure their fans will be bang up for it. Austin being out is a bonus but we are gonna need an early goal to settle the team down

Why? We struggled with Dembele and Alli as our width against Burnley prior to Sissoko coming on.

We either need to play wing backs or have a least one player with pace supporting Kane, whether it be Sissoko or bi-polar Son.
