I'd be happy for Tevez to go to Madrid, allowing Llorente to join us. I believe he would suit our play better than Carlos Tevez.

OK. If the best goalkeeper in the world becomes available I'd like us to sign him.

It's not about mony as he won't earn more elsewhere but he doesn't appear to be happy in England and neither are his family.

I don't see the need for a thread stating little more than "if a world class becomes available we should try and buy him."

Ok! I see your point

But all we can do is try right??

Besides its not simply a case of "if a world class player becomes available then we should try and buy him", its about whether a world class player becomes available that meets all of our requirements ie 1. Proven premiership experience, 2. a proven quality striker, 3. champions league experience, 4. hungry and looking for a change!

.....players like this don't come along that often!

Even with all this talk about being homesick, i really believe that he'd still be keen to stay in the Premiership and a big part of me thinks that Harry could persuade him to join us!

I wish I had your optimism regarding this transfer.

Actually I don't because it's only going to end in you being disappointed.

I heard he is on £205,000 a week, would he take a £130,000 pay cut to join us ?

Pie in the sky

According to BBC, they said he was on £150k p/w. City offered him another £100 p/w on top if he stayed, to which he said no.

He has also said he would take a pay cut to go elsewhere. Not saying we are going to sign him (as I don't think we will). However, we may be able to afford him...

I am not even convinced we need him, we already have a good goalscoring midget in Defoe and I can't see him playing with Tevez and if fit would get as many if not more than Tevez over a season.

We need a big physical striker to complement Defoe not another midget

There's taking a pay cut then there's taking less than half that wage

I think he's probably thinking along the lines of up to about £30k less at most. Still too much for us.

Thats an odd description of Tevez. He may be small but he's like a bull. Not many are stronger physically than him. He also does a lot more work than Defoe and drops off more, which is actually the reason I dont think we need him. Nothing to do with his size (we'd all love Messi who is also small yet extremely strong) but because he plays in the same areas as VDV. We need someone to play off the shoulder off the last defender like Defoe does, but with more consistency in the box.

When people also say city wouldn't sell to us, Bellamy imo did not come to us because he didn't want to put in a transfer request he always came out and he said if i am in the managers plans then I want to stay

and london has more of a spanish population then manchester and he wasn't complaining about fitting in when he was at west ham

If tevez goes to madrid then we should go for benzema
If benzema goes to man city we go for dzeko or adebayor
It is a good thing that Juventus cant sign either dzeko or adebayor since they aren't EU nationals

If I remember correctly there was talk of us trying to sign Eto'o with puma paying the wages and also madrid pay part of VDV wages

No chance we'd get him, but we are notorious for paying over the top transfer fees.

All hypothetical but...

If it's not about wages then at least we could afford his wages.

We've spent around 50m on Bentley, Keane, Palacios and Crouch.

It would IMO win us the title.

But he's notorious for throwing his toys out the pram, he's done it at every club he has been at. He's a ticking timebomb, it's like babysitting a kid who throws tantrums or being a teacher and waiting for a terrible teenager to disrupt the class.

The Ariges Ricky Villa, Ossie Ardiles and Tarrico could sway his opinion if he wanted back to London, but it's a huge risk to Spurs if they flirted with the idea.

I have no doubt that Spurs fans would love him as much as the likes of Gazza, Ginola, Klinsmann etc

I wonder when the 'itk' will start to filter through informong us that 'he's the one they want', and 'the player wants to come it's just down to City'?

Shame for Man City, though. Just as they're having their best run in the Premier League since the club was formed in 2008.

He is a fantastic player but even if it was financially possible (which it's not) I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club.

Shameless plagiarism of a joke made in regard to Chelsea from a witty Liverpool fan on Twitter yesterday.

Shameful!
