Real madrid are after a striker this window but this was before Benzema scored a hat trick

Like I said before IMO tevez wants to leave because of mancini tactics and man management, look how bellamy who was a friend was forced out the club even though he was one of the best players for man city last season.

He enjoyed his football under Hughes, whereas mancini plays negatively and tevez has continuously criticised the players and saying he wants to retire

So the fact that says he wants to retire just tells me he isn't fussed about money especially since if he goes back to argentina he wont need the extra money he supposedly wants

So if I was harry I would just try and sell him the dream
Telling him we can win the league with him being the star.

If only. It's City's ball and they won't give us a kick

He is great! A winner and never say die attitude when he is playing. But the risk of him walking out of football is too real to take the risk. He can just retire for thousands of reason that may not go for him. Way too risky

We have no chance of signing him. If they wouldnt sell us Bellamy then I think there is no chance on earth of them selling us tevez.

We couldn't afford his wages, he is rumoured to be on well over 200k.

He is homesick and making grumbles about the amount of games he has to play plus he wants to retire early so no thanks, money better spent elsewhere to secure the clubs long term financial future.

I know Tottenham is a multicultural area....but i don't think we could convince mrs tevez that its a spanish speaking borough....isn't that what tevez said...he is off to spain with his homesick wife....oh and we can't afford his wages either!

I think that the best things that we can hope for out of this is that is disrupts City in some way and that Tevez goes to Madrid allowing Benzema to come to us on loan for the rest of the season.

i dont think we have a hope in hell of signing him, although he is exactly what we are looking for (probably every club in the world aswell). Like someone already said the best we can hope for is that it disrupts Citeh in a big way on the pitch. He is their main goal threat

I can name just about every reason possible for why he will not sign for us. In fact I do not think there is a single reason why he would sign for us.

Although if Tevez stops playing for them that could really help our top 4 aspirations.

What's the point of this thread?

I'd like to see us sign Messi, Kaka and Iniesta.

Well Messi, Kaka and Iniesta aren't looking to leave their clubs!!

All i'm saying is that if a player of Tevez's calibre is looking to leave one of our rivals in the Premiership, then maybe we should at least entertain the idea of investigating further.
I certainly don't think we should be afraid of teams offering huge salaries - in testing a players resolve perhaps we'll find that it might not even be about the cash - perhaps he just wants to feel at home at a club........and i personally believe Tevez would feel much happier at Spurs due to our team spirit and overall attitude!

But i do agree that Man City will never want to sell to us anyway, however, as quite a few have mentioned on this thread already, which other team is going to match Man City's wages........Real Madrid is the only one that springs to mind, so if that happens then Benzema could indeed become available...........then i'll start another thread "Should we buy Benzema??" lol

Exactly the type of player our team/club is calling out for but sadly we dont stand a cat in hells chance of getting him or City even selling him to us.

Maybe i'm being naive, but don't football players still WANT to play football!!
I know Tevez is on a huge salary and i know its been reported that he's homesick, but could it be that he's just sick of the red tape and ego's at Man City (and the tactics at Man U!) and maybe, just maybe its NOT all about the cash, perhaps he still wants to actually play football and win things, with a good club, with a good spirit!

I just don't want to believe that its all about the wonga! If that was the case then once he'd signed his contract wouldn't he have just started piling on the pounds, drinking heavily and decided to warm the bench!?

Tevez is just an example of the type of player (if they become available) that we should look into as he'd certainly be able to take us to the next level!

OK. If the best goalkeeper in the world becomes available I'd like us to sign him.

It's not about mony as he won't earn more elsewhere but he doesn't appear to be happy in England and neither are his family.

I don't see the need for a thread stating little more than "if a world class becomes available we should try and buy him."

We wont sign any of these Man City players, nor should we. They chose the big money move to City and they now have to live with that joke of a club. I'd rather not give any money to Man City in the near future. We dont need their players (we signed the likes of Bale, Modric and VDV elsewhere for example) and they sure as hell dont need our money. Forget Adam Johnson, Adebayor and Tevez, i'd rather we look at guys like Elija, Pienaar, Suarez, Dzeko, Carrol.... There are plenty more quality players outside of City who aren't money grabbing mercenaries.
