Problem with walker is he doesn't have a football brain , that's why he never sees danger coming . Without pace mmmmYeah that's what I was going on too. He was solid in the air but like everything else he does he was prone to a brain fart.
We also lost a few with Tripps at RB. Think each had positives and negatives weighed up against the opposition we were facing. Don't think Pep would ever have considered Walker at Barcelona. But, after a season here, he's realized the PL's a different animal, and KW checks most of the boxes required, particularly with regard to City's needs. It's a big loss for us, but Perreira would be a great replacement.

Thank god for the release clause lolhttp://sportwitness.co.uk/tottenham-insist-making-signing-first-offer-rejected-theyll-go-back/
Tottenham will not give up on Ricardo Pereira, report O Jogo, despite having their first offer for the fullback knocked back.
O Jogo revealed on Friday that Tottenham had made a first offer for the right back, who can also play on the left, but the bid was €15m and turned down immediately.
Portuguese clubs often like selling their players for buyout clauses, because they’re usually overpriced, but with Pereira being on loan at Nice for two years, his hasn’t been updated.
The 23 year old is still on the contract which fitted his previous status, and therefore the clause is €25m, something which Porto have been keen to change.
Still, Tottenham’s reported original offer was nowhere near that figure, but O Jogo claim that Kyle Walker’s sale means the club will now ‘insist’ on signing Pereira.
that
If necessary, it’s believed Tottenham will go to the full €25m figure, and that should be no problem given the sale of Walker.
Ricardo Pereira to Tottenham rumours were launched by Portugal’s Sabado on June 9th, with Spurs then looking for potential Walker replacements.
Maybe last year, but not now, he's their starting right back and has signed a new contract recently, would be expensive & tbh he isn't as good as Trippier which Ricardo might not be, but he is rapid unlike CedricThis transfer at the price quoted doesn't add up to me.
I don't see the logic of spending €25m for unproven EPL prospect in Pereira where there already is another Portguese full back that is better and is premiership proven in Cedric Soares.
I'm sure the Saints would accept €25m. It is much better business for Spurs as Cedric is a known quantity and is only 25 as well. Perfect age for this team.
What gives you the impression that Southampton, a money rich premier league club(wanting 70 for VVD) would sell their first choice right back, a Portuguese international ahead of Periera in the pecking order, for as little as that to a club they don't particularly have a liking for. I'd be shocked. This transfer at the price quoted doesn't add up to me.

You are deluded if you think they'd sell for that much. This transfer at the price quoted doesn't add up to me.

Porto play hardball over Tottenham right-back target Ricardo Pereira
Porto are playing hardball over Tottenham target Ricardo Pereira, Sky Sports News HQ understands.
The Portugal right-back is Spurs' preferred choice to replace Kyle Walker, who joined Manchester City in a deal worth in excess of £50m this week.
Pereira has a release clause of £22m but Porto had previously indicated a willingness to negotiate a lower transfer fee for the 23-year-old because they needed to accrue funds.
The Primeira Liga runners-up have since sold Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15m and Andre Silva to Milan for £33.3m however, as well as others, which has strengthened their financial position.
A source involved with Pereira has told Sky Sports News HQ that Porto may accept an offer in the region of £16m, but another has said Spurs may have to stump up the entire £22m release clause.
And Tottenham must decide if they are prepared to pay that much for a player who will initially act as second choice to Kieran Trippier.
This transfer at the price quoted doesn't add up to me.
