The one thing that concerns me with Pereira - and it is a minor thing - is the fact he isn't very tall thus not so great aerially. This is something Walker was pretty solid at.

I've lost count of the amount of times walker got beaten in the air due to his positioning, lack of awareness of what's around him, and losing the flight of the ball. As fantastic as walker was for us, I wouldn't say one of his strengths was his arial ability.

Trippier and KWP are midgets too. Think it's less of an issue when we play 3 at the back. Can always stick Dier out there if we play a back 4.

Shortly after Walker came on the s/f against Chelsea he screwed up a simple header, failed to clear a corner and they scored. Overall a good player and he will be missed, but his positioning was poor and he often missed headers.

Yet according to the squawka stats, he has the best percentage of aerial duels won in the PL by a right back

The guy talks more bollocks than anybody I've ever seen on Twitter. He's got no connections, he's an attention seeking bell end with 0 knowledge on football or internal affairs at Spurs.

He has a tantrum every year on transfer deadline day without fail. Absolute gimp

Not surprised on the 'duels' stat when he's touch tight to the attacker due to his strength and size but he has had real problems in the past when the attacker pulls off him with his awareness and losing the flight of the ball in the air. He has got better at that the last year or so though to be fair to him.

The problem with an aerial duels stat is it doesn't take into consideration anytime a player is horribly out of position and can't even make it into a duel. Nevertheless, Kyles physical attributes will be missed as our back 6/7 has been incredibly strong and powerful of late

22 mill is a bargain in this market, bartering 7 mill short will piss them off. Yet we are willing to pay 25 on a player with one year left.

Thats how we do business, I am starting to get rather concerned but our lack of activity. I hope Poch is cool and calm about it.

We have seen it before and will doubtless see it again, trying to be too clever by half instead of being definitive in our approach to doing transfer business, we have not taken the momentum and credibility earned by finishing second last season in the transfer window.

I always find the out of position thing a bit harsh considering our full backs are tasked with bombing on with the onus on the DMs to cover that space if necessary. Especially when another of our players has lost possession up the pitch.

Think of the 'back post' and Kyle was often found lacking. Arsenal (away) last year and the Gibbs goal comes to mind. I wouldn't say it was common but it did happen more than you would like because it often led to goals. I just accepted it as part of the package. In straight aerial duals he was a beast but positioning himself to track a back post cross and track a man was a weakness. On net he was a big plus.

Walker won 58 aerial duals last year, Alderweireld won 44. I don't think the stats are misleading, Walker is solid in the air.

24 of which he followed the opposing player and pushed them over near the corner flag.
The most frustrating player to watch since Lennon. Neither could back themselves in the final third.
