Loftus road really is a magnet for scrappy hard to watch games and our defence is quite worrying but a full weeks rest is desperately needed.
I have never in my life enjoyed watching a football game at that pokey ground. Fucking hate it. It's an 'orrible little hobbit hole.

We're above Southampton for the first time this season (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

We won away to a bottom half team (which we're highly susceptible to) and at a ground we rarely win at.

Still got a fully fit squad.

Weeks rest before the manure game to absorb everything that's happened over a every busy, demanding spell (physically and emotionally) and looking towards finishing the rest of the season as strong as possible.

Ridiculous how well we've been playing from approx. round 16 and onwards. The first 10-12 matches of the season really is what keeps us out of the race for the title! If we'd had the same steam throughout the season, only Chelsea would have been ahead of us now.

I thought our performance upped for 10 minutes after Dembele was bought on.

Lamela was bought on to put pressure on the defence so they werent allowed time to be so accurate with their long balls up, and added energy to the forward line

And given they resorted to hoofing the ball, Stambo came on to plug the gap for knock downs and to place himself in front of the strikers to stop direct balls into them by making the CM more crowded.

My take anyway.

Second half we did alright on the counter and making use of the space available. Dembele didn't really affect this though we did continue to play ok when he was on.

The problem I had was that we then took off all our counter attacking threat and players who might run with the ball. There was one moment where Lamela and Dembele should have worked a two on one and been bearing down on their goal for instance, yet fucked around with it by going sideways and not running in a straight line, and then the chance was gone. Tippy tappy and no direct threat often in those situations can actually lead to pressure on you... Sometimes the best option when the ball breaks is to have people who will run it down the other end of the pitch.

I just think it was Poch with his usual subs though, rather than any great thought going into it.

Massive win, the 3pts are all that matters. Oh, and we should never sell anyone to a prem team again. Unbelievable how our ex players always score against us.

the second half was quite good, we should have scored more

the back four continues to make some errors, today we came away with it.

only 4 points up too third now!!

And hand ball has to be deliberate. These "Pundits" always seem to forget that.
.. the pundits insist on quoting whichever lines from the rules suit their argument. Their favourite at the moment is that it must be a penalty if the defender's arm's in "an unnatural position", which they arbitrarily define as anything other standing scratching their balls.

I mean, can we fault them for being sad about leaving that training ground?

That rounds out all the forwards/midfielders we sold this past summer though to Prem sides. Only the two defenders, Daws and Fryers, have not scored on us this season.
