Wow, I got a bunch of negs saying his ability was in question... this is a little... strong, IMO. I don't particularly like that Tanguy gets paid for such a lack of effort, but hate, really?

"Hate" as in as a player; not "hate" as in "I want the guy to rot in Hell for eternity."

I can't believe how rankled some of you are over the use of a word which- in this context- encapsulates my dissapointment regarding a player whose talent, ability and style I was ready to love. FFS calm down everyone; I hate him in the way one might hate- say- driving a Ford. It doesn't mean you want to destroy the people that made the car; you just don't really fancy it- and you say so using the clearly OTT, taboo-word "hate." My God- what was I thinking?!?

Of course had I said I "love" him, well that'd be no big deal because obviously everyone knows the "love" in this case would be referencing a SPORTS love (as opposed to an actual one in which I, say, wished to start a family with the guy).

But "hate"- I mean sorry but that's simply a bridge too far. I don't know what got into me. I can't apologize enough. My words toward this player were atrocious and I can only hope and pray that somehow, someway he not only gets past this but is also (hopefully) able to one day find his form, in spite of my horrendous words...

Christ al-fucking-mighty.

I intensely dislike Tanguy Ndombele because I was so excited when we signed him and now I feel just a bit let down.

How's that?

I apologize; I know none of you have ever used that word in reference to any human being connected with Tottenham or any other club for that matter. I suppose you don't "hate" Boris Johnson, you've never used the word "hate" when describing Donald Trump....I mean the long and short of it is that to use that word is just simply inexcusable (and utterly rare as well)correct? None of you ever utter that truly horrible word, because no one on here is hyperbolic, with the exception of me.

Here: "I wish it worked out for him here at Spurs but unfortunately it didn't but hey- at least he makes 200,000 Quid a week- so he's likely happy about that- as he should we be! Sure do hope he's investing wisely!

Anyway, no room for "hate" here; positive words only. This is, after all, a fan forum about a team of multi-millionaire footballers- and I'm sure they'd be upset if they knew that word was bandied about.

You know what? I love him now.

I really do.

Perhaps they hate the word.

Look... it's been very frustrating with Tanguy... obviously a very gifted player. I was excited when we signed him. What I had seen from him in the Champions League and Ligue 1 was just amazing. Several other top clubs wanted him as well.

What went wrong ??? ... I really have no clue.

He didn't fit in at Spurs ?
The demands of the Premier League were too much for him ?
He didn't like living in England ?
He was not working hard enough ?
He had personal problems ?
We just bought the wrong guy like many times before ?
Not 100% focused on football ?

It's massively disappointing.

I don't like looking at players who clearly not want to be here or who clearly not care about the shirt or the club... that's the impression you got from Tanguy in some games or periods here.

That's the problem for me. I wish him well. But I'm glad he's not at Spurs anymore.

The money thing is not his fault. Transfer fee or the wages. That's just the sick level we are at in modern football. And we like high profile signings ?

(This is also why I don't get the negativity that players like Højbjerg, Davies, Moura and even Lamela often get/got... okay... they might not be top class players but you need squad players who always fight for the shirt. They care. No matter what situation they or the club are in.... Tanguy is the opposite of that.. and he was bought as an important player.)

Tanguy makes no. 37 on this list , as the list shows plenty of other clubs have made bad buys, let's hope Tanguy is a great success in Serie A and makes a permanent move.
Just one question if we get Napoli in CL can he play , in Italian football loan players can normally play against their parent clubs what's the rule in CL.

You also said you despise him so you might need another post for that. (Just kidding!)
I kind of get where you're coming from but yours is a high octane type of response whereas with me it's just "what a shame it didn't work out, you were one of my favourite players to watch". It's not all-consuming, it's just football and there could be 1001 reasons why he has ended up in this situation. He is a human being and a lot of things can affect how he operates in the world and on the pitch. I'm sure he is not actively choosing to give up on playing for France again or playing football at the highest level. It's not a Tottenham thing because he went back to Lyon last season and it didn't work out there either back in his home country at a club where he made his name. Maybe at some point the truth will emerge but for me it is sad to see him wasting such talent as you said but ultimately it has happened to many players before him and sadly it will happen to many after him as well. Dele Alli is right there as an example of someone super-talented struggling to recapture their spark.

Exactly this. All this personal abuse, fat jokes etc.. really makes me question some of you as people.

Different folk have different levels of emotional investment.
It's just people expressing their frustration and not funny that there is a need for judgement!

Think they can (see: Coutinho scoring for Bayern v Barca whilst on loan from Barca, don't think it's changed since) but there may be clauses in the loan deal to prevent it.

Not a single fat joke has been even vaguely amusing. That's part of the annoyance.

That’s it for me. Like where the Djed jokes ending up going. There was nothing in mildly original or remotely funny. It wasn’t even ‘groan’ worthy. It was just pointless spam.
