Comparing him to Dembele is a bit like comparing Dembele to Modric. They're not the same. Sure Ndombele is strong on the ball and uses his body well but he is a playmaker. Dembele was amazing at what he did, one of our best ever central midfielders but he was largely about controlling the midfield. Ndombele does so much more in the final third though. I still think we'll stick to 4231 with Ndombele more advanced of Lo Celso and Hojbjerg but as long as we get those 3 and the front 3 of Son, Kane and Bale together as often as possible we'll be one hell of a team to watch again.

People compare him to Dembele which makes sense. But I’ve never seen a player who passes like him in my life, it’s mesmerizing the amount of thought that goes into the weight, the height, the direction of each ball. Something special.

As much as I rate N'Dombele let's not go overboard. De Bruyne and Messi are the best two passers in the world by a country mile.

Really impressed with Tanguy tonight, particularly in the second half. I think he is improving game by game and that he will be an absolute monster for us. Love his style on the ball, you can't teach it.

What impressed me about him 2nd half was his ability to recieve the ball under pressure, so good at holding a man off and shielding the ball. Also showed good decision making and as we already know he can see a pass

Whatever else Poch's insistence on getting a particular player in may have cost us, in the case of Ndombele and Lo Celso we should be grateful for his stubbornness.

I think a lot of the Dembele comparison comes from how adept he is when receiving the ball under pressure (or taking the ball into pressure). He thrives on those situations as they give him the opportunity to draw multiple opposition players towards him, creating a bit of space in behind them. Dembele would often then use his strength to drive into that space himself, whereas Ndombele tends to pass forwards into it..

Keeps coming late to fill his spots defensively. Keeps forgetting his time to compensate or exchange positions.

But is an amazing joy to watch on the ball. And is proving to be fast and powerful when needed.

Glad he seems to be turning it around, there was never a doubt about his ability on the ball. Absolute joy to watch him twist and turn around opposition. He even seems to thrive getting the ball played into his feet with someone closing him down. Great strength and lovely feet, Keep up the good work tanguy ?

Another solid game and more minutes under the belt, great to see this turnaround, credit to Jose for how he handled it and big credit to Tangy for digging in and turning it around or seeming to so far.

Clear increase in fitness and more willingness to get around the pitch. Still probably a week or two away until he gets to where he wants to be but just glad things are looking up for him. A fit, firing on all cylinders Ndombele adds so much to the team and for me it absolutely has to be him, Hojbjerg and Lo Celso in a midfield 3. The guy has abilities which can't be taught. Way he can see and play a first time pass is almost Coutinho like.

To my fellow Ndombele truthers who spent all summer rolling our eyes at everyone calling him fat, lazy, unworthy, a flop or shat on whenever we spoke up by all the proper football fans who knew what was what and now get to feast on the apologies of those same people...
