Didn’t play a minute for France. Do not worth going and risking his injury was it.

let’s hope he’s good for the weekend
This is bizarre, there was a bit of a fuss about him going, France said he's fine, then don't play him. Just let him spend the time here continuing to acclimatise. Stupid.

The way we handle internationals is amateur.

Wonder how he would have done today?

Would he maybe have been bullied a bit in second half or shown composure and given us better control in middle?

Will be interesting to see how he goes under Mourinho, I wouldn’t be surprised if we stick with Winks and Dier for short-term as seems Mourinho’s style to keep settled team and perhaps try and install confidence rather than chopping and changing.

He would have picked West Ham apart today.

It felt a lot better having Dier in there today. He was a little off with his passing but he also played some nice passes. You can see why José likes him.

He gives a more solid foundation to the midfield.

Is this guy going to be defensively good enough?

He is quality on the ball but off it he looks off the pace.

I agree but I think if we get two solid CDM’s who are willing to run their arses off every game they can make up for him in a 3 man midfield.

The many, many people on here and at games saying he is?

I had three or four idiots around me at the match telling Mourinho to get Dier off for Lo Celso.
In the last few pages there are no posts calling him a DM.

General feeling seems to be he will play deeper than the attacking mids but next to a DM.

Interested to see how Jose lines us up long term.

4231 is suitable for us but it appears Ndombele and Lo Celso could form a fantastic three man midfield alongside a DM.

Think if you look at how Sissoko played today, you replace that with Lo Celso and I'd be over the moon.

I think you want Ndombele in that back 5 but as the one who is dictating play and looking to pick the right pass for the front 5, the good thing about him is he can also break the lines with Dribbling and if you have Lo Celso in there they can cover one another in the transition. To an extent Dele can also and that little triangle will be very interesting indeed if we can make it work.
