You'd think he would like to be part of the France squad for the world Cup so he may the finger out ASAP or his career will fade away and end up at a Newcastle being an Adel taarabt

So frustrating, crazy talent but we cant keep "being patient" for someone costing over £50m, 200k a week going into his 3rd season. Would seriously look at involving him in any Inter deal.

So infuriating when someone has the talent, but lacks the application.

It reminds me of a story my Dad once told me. My Dad played football at a reasonable semi-professional level, which was always achieved through hard work rather than raw talent.

One of his close friends had supreme talent but was lazy and my Dad just couldn’t understand him wasting his gift.

Said friend was scouted for a premier league team and on the day of his trial he overslept and missed his opportunity!

My Dad still spoke of it with complete incredulity 50 years later.

The guy has a serious attitude problem. Look back as far as his youth days and you will find articles stating exactly the same. He always knew he was more talented than most players so worked nowhere near as hard.

I don't know if he has any mental health issues and don't want to go into that as it would be speculation. But what isn't speculation is his incredibly poor attitude and his inability to get in the required shape for the Prem.

Not going to be easy but get him out if at all possible and get someone in who is ready to work.
Compounds what a lot of us have been unfortunately thinking and saying regarding tangy. Move him on. Shame

I'm sorry but he wasn't one of the best midfielders in Europe. Yes he was a very good player but he was a player with a very high ceiling with a good few clubs chasing him. To be one of the best midfielders in Europe, you have to prove yourself over an extended period of time.

He went from the 2nd tier to Lyon after a successful loan. We actually looked at Ndombele the Summer before we signed him when we could have got him for £15m. We had doubts however and decided against it. He then had a great season and we bit the bullet. No one can disagree that it was a huge mistake on our part to sign him.

He is an incredibly talented player, no one can debate that. But under Paratici and Nuno, we're trying to build an exciting team with players who WANT to play for us. Unfortunately, we can no longer afford to carry Ndombele and so it's time we move him on. I think the only chance we have of selling is a loan with an option and due to his desire to leave, he actually puts the required effort in for a season and gets his move.

It's incredibly frustrating that it hasn't worked out but this is why the personality of a player is key and you will see that our signings this window will all be hungry players with a desire to succeed.
So so spot on. You’ve summarised this perfectly

Can confirm this story is true - I was the premier league club.

totally

Lyon were delighted when we paid what we did

they pretended there were other clubs keen but at the price we paid there was no one else

So frustrating. Felt like after the first half of last season or so he might have turned a corner, only to tail off and now facing his “fitness” problems AGAIN. Players like this annoy me so much. All the talent in the world, but can’t be arsed to work for it. Cut our losses otherwise if he stays it’ll be like Dele where at the beginning of each season everyone has a “feeling this season will be his season” and I feel it never will

Bit harsh on Dele who's achieved much more in his Spurs career than Ndombele has.

And I say that as an Ndombele fan.

It's one thing to question or discuss a player's mental health and ability to perform on the pitch, I don't have any issue with thar. It's another to insult it or belittle it and other Spurs fans when discussing it. When I said toxic I didn't refer to any specific conversation because it's all the conversations and responses around those conversations thar are actually toxic, not the conversation topics themselves. The divide in discourse is such that everyone is always in here on the defense or attack for even mild posts. That's the toxicity I am referring too.

I'm not sure anybody has discussed his mental health? Does he have mental health issues? I've never seen anything that suggests he has, or anyone proclaiming he has.

Saying he's "mentally fragile" is in respect of the fact he disappears after he's took a hard challenge or two, and how he's seemingly crumbling at the prospect of his clique buddies, Sissoko & Aurier departing.

It appears he has no fight, no desire to suck it up & get on with things when the going gets tough.

That's what I meant by mentally fragile.

I deal with, and fight mental health every day of my life. I have never, and will never speak badly about, or towards anybody who has struggles with mental health issues.

And insulting or belittling posters who have a differing opinion is something else I do not do. I admit I post the odd sarcastic gif if someone has said something I don't agree with/like, but insulting others is truly not what I do, or am about.

The irony is I agree with you. I also don't like it when people get nasty towards each other and, because of things I've got going on in my own Personal life, it's the reason I've taken the last month or so lurking rather than posting as much as I did. And will continue to do so! When you're in a bad place mentally, engaging in negativity will do nothing but help you remain on the downward spiral that you so desperately want to get out of.

I despise negativity, which is why I used to post my silly (and probably annoying) gifs in the middle of people going at each others throats on here. I'm a self confessed drip who wishes people could just get along because, let's face it, the world is a fucking ugly enough place without people needing to resort to tearing strips off each other on a football forum.

I'm sorry you didn't take my post in the manner in which it was posted.

Good to hear we have some realization of his faults and are willing to look into moving him on, until then all he can do is prove everyone wrong, but it sounds like he has no interest in doing this, sad but life is life and you move on.

When he played for Lyon did he consistently excel or was he a big match kind of player? Most of what I saw of him was in the CL where he was exceptional.
Just wondering what's different between Lyon and us or if we scouted badly because he's always picked and chosen which games he performs in.

Here here. I struggle with anxiety especially the last few weeks for some reason which comes and goes and feel exactly the same as you.

Mentality is different to mental health problems, he gets a kick and he roles on the floor for 10 mins then doesn't want the ball, pointing to where it will go away from him.

Anyway he's got 4 years left on his contract I think so we would want a lot of money and PSG aside I don't see any clubs for him.

It's a shame as he has all the talent in the world and I was so excited by his signing. I've always stood up for him but he's not fit and wants to go so enough already.

I have also had bad anxiety in the past and I know how tough and horrible it is but I am also enough of a realist to know that in a win at all costs industry there is no room for sentiment and if his performances are affected by mental health which i'm not sure is the case I just don't think he wants it enough then you cant just carry someone and give them leeway because they have those issues its harsh but its just being realistic. Its the same as Eriksens heart condition its a terrible thing but no club is going to take the risk on it now.
