Can’t believe people are passing it off as being a signing we are only doing because he’s free.

He’s a 10-15m player in ordinary circumstances with lots of senior games and some good CL experience. More importantly, He’s a technical, skilful and energetic player who fits with Ange’s attacking philosophy.

It’s quite possible we would have looked at him even if the war had never happened. and I suppose if we’d paid 15m for him some people would have been perversely more happy than they are now.

His finishing looks great. HOTspur signing right there. Good luck, Solomon 🤍

Actually reminds me of Sonny the way he can hit the ball powerfully and accurately with either foot. If he returns 10% of what Sonny has that's a terrific deal for us.

How much has he played RW?

We have Son Kulusevski Solomon and Richarlison. Only one is really naturally a RWer which is slightly concerning

Can't win with some fans.

You sign big name/expensive players then if they flop they bitch about the scouting team and the club wasting money.

You sign cheap, undervalued players and you're small time.

Most of our best transfers in past 20 years were cheap and barely known when we brought them in. Let's at least give Solomon a shot before we say he's the next Pienaar or a "small-club" signing.

Doubt many of us have seen more than a few games of him so not like many people's opinions are based on more than his pricetag.
I can't winner this enough.
Does my head in sometimes, the negativity for negativities sake from some folk.

Like, is this guy going to be a world beater? Fuck knows.
Does anybody think he will be? Not really.
Does this seem to be a shrewd move for a player who may be pretty good? Yes.

What's the point of fucking moaning one way or another. Being written off by people who haven't got the first clue about him or why we're getting him, just going for the cheap and easy dig again.
Pisses me off.

He can play RW for sure mate he’ll be able to cover LW and RW.

So we will have :

LW: Son/Solomon/Richy/Perisic?
RW: Kulu/Solomon/Gil/Porro
CAM: Maddison/Kulu

If we play 4-2-3-1 then the above might be ok, if we play 4-3-3 with 2 8’s then Kulu might play as one of the 8’s, Maddison the other and if so I’d like to see us sign another winger.

Depends if Ange can make Gil work and/or any youngsters.

Where do Devine & Scarlett play, either be close to being ready?

We’re slowly morphing into a far more exciting team just by our signings never mind the change to a high press possession attack based style on top of that :)

Maddison and now Solomon are two bums off seats players, ones we seriously lacked since Jose & Conte preferred big physical defensive style tactical rigid players not fast small agile creative ones who play with freedom.

Buzzing to be excited about spurs again

I really don’t see a place for Perisic

And we desperately need two centre backs otherwise it’s all pointless

To me he looks a level up from Gil. And solving the problem of a back up winger / impact sub means we could offload Gil and put the fee towards other potential incomings. Looks a great signing.

Not completely sold on Manor being a long term success here but still think this is a solid addition. Succession planning for Son is needed and am not convinced he is that but there is so much else to do this window that I am happy with this. It addresses the immediate need for rotation with little outlay so bigger holes for more immediate needs can be filled. At best the lottery ticket pays off and he becomes the long term solution, but minimum expectation is you have a proper change of pace to bring in late in games in a season without European rotation.

I can understand concerns about the player but don't understand attacking the recruitment fundamentals. It just seems a solid, reasonable, thought out approach.

Interesting fact - pretty sure I read Ange is very knowledgable about leagues across the world and also very keen to be involved in transfers.

Liel Abada, who Celtic signed under Ange, was picked up from Maccabi Petah Tikva, the same team Solomon used to play for. Clearly he was initially a club target but the optimist in me says Ange knows a lot about Solomon and therefore happy with him as a target.
Abada is really good too, think this is a shrewd signing.

I like this signing albeit ive never heard of him.

from the highlights he looks exactly what we need. good technique and we can put him on either flank and not lose the pace and direct approach from son and kulusevski

He’s an exciting winger, kind of. Combination of Lennon & Hazard, can play LW & RW, We are signing him almost essentially on a free transfer, he’s only 23, such a great deal.
👏

Definitely some potential there (not that you can ever really tell from these compilations ha ha ha)

Ooh let me be edgy and say something negative and controversial about our new signing for a reaction, even though I know nothing about him

👏

His close control and shifting the ball just as the opponent is onto him reminds me of Edwards.

You disliked my comment about Ndombele attitude but you’re saying you like a signing yet have never heard of him 🤣😅 sums this forum up at times, certain people think they know everything but actually know very little.

It’s fine if you don’t know but making a statement on how you feel about a signing based on never having heard of the player is a tad bizzare, just say you’ve never heard of him but hope he does well.
