There seems to be a hell of a lot of people who are experts on him and have seen him play, either that or I don’t watch enough Spanish football, that they want him ahead of coutinho or dybala

I think if we get two, then it's key he is one. I certainly wouldn't say I want him over those two trouser lifters if it were only 1 however.

If we got both Dybala and Coutinho I'd have concerns about being able to use both regularly, as both are quite lazy defensively and would prefer to play in a #10.

Lo Celso has played various positions for PSG and Betis and is only 23 and therefore has plenty of scope for growth. I think Dybala and Lo Celso is the winning combo. The new Ossie and Ricky.

Betis "Mr Levy, we'll agree to the deal we struck a fortnight ago"

Levy "bit busy atm, I've got Barca and Juve on the other lines"

....

Betis "look we don't want this to fall through, we'll take 50mill"

Levy "loool i don't even want the fucker anymore, keep him!"

Betis "but we've spent the money already, we need to sell him"

Levy "How far in the red are you?"

Betis "30 million"

Levy "I'll get back to you"

......

Betis chairmen gets a text

"30m for GLC, take it or leave it"

If we're stuck with Eriksen for a season or plan to try and flog him at the end of the European window, it really is integral that we sign one of Lo Celso and Fernandes, preferably the former.

Dybala is pure box office but would be a selection headache, and Coutinho would be decent but I'm not convinced he's the type we need.

The one player that would really help to link the midfield and attack and provide tons of tactical flexibility is Lo Celso and it's no coincidence that he's the player we've been most strongly linked to from the very start of the window (except Ndombele).

Really hope we can get this one over the line.
I want GLC more than the others, including Dybala, because he's the one that can play deeper and link midfield and attack, which I think is where we sometimes struggle.

Let's bully them. Getting sick of these tinpot chairmen trying to get one up on Levy. He's going to have to kill somebody one day. Where's Jeremy Peace now? Need I say more?

That really was embarrassing from Jeremy Peace, totally fucked that for all parties.

Betis will 100% sell Lo Celso this window, IMO. It's just whether they actually think they can get more money elsewhere and sell after our window closes, or they know they won't get anyone to pay more than we will and eventually cave into to our deal.

Levy's reputation really does precede him. As soon as we're interested in player the chairman, or owner want to out negotiate him to say they one upped Levy. As you mentioned we had it with Peace for the Berahino deal and I'm sure it's happened numerous times since then including Betis. I guess that is what happens when you're known as one of the best in the game, people try to meet your match.

Yep, there is nothing I'm happier about than that blowing up in Peace's face. Their fans were so sure they'd beaten Levy at his own game and the chairman was publicly talking about it as if he was a legend for fucking around. Lucky I don't track him down and beat him up, tbh.

Where are you getting that figure from? 11 or20 depending on who pays salary was being quoted last night.
£27 million was quoted a couple of weeks back but if what you are saying is the case it seems there was a better deal in there but I still have doubts about us paying £20 million or would that be with Barca paying his wages?

Well obviously it has to be, with the window closing in about 30 hours.
Can feel this one will get done

It’s now or never for Betis IMO, once our window shuts there’s no chance a continental team offers as much as we have. Surely they will bite.

This will get done imo. Don't think Betis are a club that can easily give up 50m and then some in the expectation that they can get more from him in 12 months time. Too much risk there for them imo, and the financial reward is substantial, despite maybe not being quite what they wanted.

Got to be honest, until about 6 weeks ago, I'd never heard of the guy.

But...if he's the one that Poch wants then I really hope this gets done.

Agreed.

I thought once we had the link to Dybala, that everyone would jump off Lo Celso and onto Dybala (not literally of course).

However a lot of people still saying GLC should be our number 1 target over Dybala.

That does excite me.

My personal order of preference is still Lo Celso, Dybala, Coutinho, Fernandes. I genuinely believe Lo Celso is the one that Poch really wants. He's the player I think will do the best for us and fit our system and what we need the most. However, I cant think of when we will get a chance to sign a player of the pedigree/genuine statement signing that Dybala would be. Ideally for me would be signing both Dybala and Lo Celso and selling Eriksen. Honestly though I would take any 2/4 and consider that a top window (other than the glaring need for a right back)
