I still really want this guy.

If Eriksen goes, which seems inevitable now, best case scenario for me is him and Dybala. However, I don't think that would work financially at all.

Completely agree...Adding NDom, Dybala and GLC whilst losing Eriksen,Janssen and Llorente is a massive team upgrade. Personally I think the contract we negotiate for Dybala is similar level to replacing Eriksens contract. GLC will be a combination of Lllorente and Janssen, so actually wont lose out that much

I’d agree with that on the basis of history.

The one thing I keep coming back to though is:
- if we’re only after one, we wouldn’t be keeping four irons in the fire. That implies we’re after two
- if we couldn’t afford two of them, we wouldn’t be trying for four
- it doesn’t strike me that any one (outside of the Coutinho loan) is dramatically cheaper than the other, and even then, there’s less, or even no sell on value with him

So I do sort of come back to the conclusion that we are genuinely after two of any of them. Which is a massive departure from everything we’ve done in the past

My own preference would be LoCelso and one of coutinho or Dybala. Coutinho to piss gooners off, but if Dybala means eriksen going to juve over manure then him all day long

I have a vision of Daniel rubbing out one name and writing in the other, wouldn't surprise me if he wrote contracts in pencil just in case.
Have to say we get ITK all the time that things can change but I've never seen it illustrated so emphatically as this, now we really know what they mean.

I agree with the sentiment here. I feel like GLC is the absolute perfect Pochettino player. He has the "engine" type of trait that Pochettino likes. We have lost a bit of that grit and high pressing play that we had when in Pochettino two first seasons. I can't remember who said it but one notable PL manager said something in the lines of "You just hate to have the possession when you play against tottenham, most of the time they are more dangerous without he ball". It's a key element in Liverpool and City's tactics as well.

That's why I'd prefer Dybala over Coutinho as well. Imagine having Lamela, GLC and Dybala running a defence ragged.

I’m in agreement with most on here. Permutations 2 out of the 4.
Lo Celso or Fernandes to provide that bank of CM option in a 433 / side of a diamond, but who could also play in the 3 of a 4231.
The second signing will be someone specifically more attacking, so either Dybala or Coutinho.

Last night it appeared Fernandes was closest out of him and Lo Celso, but trying to catch up this morning, Lo Celso may have edged back ahead. Lo Celso has been the long running saga, so seems like first choice, Fernandes comes across as Plan B, so hopefully Lo Celso happens.

I think Dybala is closest of the other two, bid apparently accepted etc, that seems to have been the hardest part for us all summer, just got to agree terms now. But there appears a willingness from him that wasn’t witnessed with Utd.

Coutinho is an odd one, it almost seems like a last minute opportunity has been presented to us, can’t see us getting him if we have Fernandes/Lo Celso and Dybala, but as a loan option it almost seems like a decent gamble to take regardless, assuming we can clear squad space.

I know what you mean about Coutinho, I just don't see us paying almost 30million for a year long loan so the fact that we still seem to be persuing it makes me think there's a better deal in there somewhere especially if we are willing to drop Lo Celso for him. Personally I'll be made up with Lo Celso and Dybala out of the four.

GLC and either of Coutinho or Dybala would be a stunning window. Lo Celso feels like a must for me as the youngest and most versatile player, who Poch is clearly into big time.

Where are you getting that figure from? 11 or20 depending on who pays salary was being quoted last night.

seriously who believes we are going to pay dybala n coutinho type wages on players who may entirely flop when asked to train n run like the wind for the mighty spurs.

lo celso is younger n doesnt have his head in those clouds just yet. (and dare i say straight up better player)

If we're stuck with Eriksen for a season or plan to try and flog him at the end of the European window, it really is integral that we sign one of Lo Celso and Fernandes, preferably the former.

Dybala is pure box office but would be a selection headache, and Coutinho would be decent but I'm not convinced he's the type we need.

The one player that would really help to link the midfield and attack and provide tons of tactical flexibility is Lo Celso and it's no coincidence that he's the player we've been most strongly linked to from the very start of the window (except Ndombele).

Really hope we can get this one over the line.

Herc saying we've finally agreed a deal with Betis now (again?) and with suggestions from Jim White on Talkshite that Coutinho wants to stay at Barca (debatable) maybe it'll be GLC as main target again??

There seems to be a hell of a lot of people who are experts on him and have seen him play, either that or I don’t watch enough Spanish football, that they want him ahead of coutinho or dybala

Stop referencing Jim....in.....White! All they are doing is peddling sky bs.

As Herc has said its our option/our decision therefore he has already said yes.

I think we were looking at two anyway, regardless of whether Erikssen signed or not. At this point, Erikssen needs to go. Attitude is terrible. The four are very different players. We need legitimate competition for places. Erikssen played when healthy regardless. He also took corners and free kicks whether he had any success or not. How many games could we have scraped points rather than lost had we scored on the odd corner or free kick? He went three years of PL games without scoring from a direct free kick. 3 years!!!!

Clearly Lo Celso wants us and we want him. Real Betis Valuation is crazy. 88M is the price you throw out there when you don't want to sell the player. When a team is in that position, they do not normally sign a replacement, as Real Betis did. Real Betis also needs the sale money to buy the players they need, so no clue where they are left if we just walk away.

Juve is good with us taking Dybala and he apparently wants to come. His numbers at Juve have been excellent, though this last year he was squeezed out by Ronaldo. Only one ball, as they say and when Ronaldo is there, he gets his fair share of the ball, and then some.

Fernandes, like Lo Celso, has already agreed terms (so is willing to come). Not sure Sporting would mind selling, they just need to show the fans that they got all that they could for him. My worry is his foot speed. Not sure how he would do in the Pochettino press

Coutinho is the interesting one. Like Ceballos, there is no way we contemplate it without a reasonable option to buy and intent from the player to stay if all goes to plan.

Now, if all four become doable, and Erikssen to ManU goes through, Fernandes does not come. The other three are just so much quicker of mind and feet IMO. The upside on Lo Celso is through the roof.

Even as the window started, I'd have been ecstatic with Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Ndombele, so would be hard to see all three over the line as a great window.
i would take Coutinho on a years loan. Keeps him away from goons and gives us best chance for top 4. Goons are laying it all on red and going for top 4 CL SPOT. we stop them and I’d imagine their financials will really suffer.
