It's fair to say I've taken to Gedson being a right back and am looking forward to my planned turning on him come mid november.

I'm delighted we have Gedson on such a long trial essentially. 21 years old and he now gets a full pre-season to settle in and gain some confidence. I can see him getting match time in CM, LM or RM, and RB/RWB.

Hopefully he'll be a good squad player this season (with the signing of another RB) and I can see him as a long-term Sissoko replacement. He might even be more technical and a better passer in the future than Sissoko.

Just seems like a kid that will run his socks off and play wherever he is needed, and that's refreshing to see and ALWAYS great to have in the squad. All the other teams have a player like this - Milner for Liverpool, Kimmich (extreme example ?) for Bayern.

He was a player once have a 100m release clause.
Doesn't mean much though, eh. Martin Braithwaite at Barca, the 29 year old Danish fella whose barely won any honours has a release clause of 300 million Euro at Barca.

Think its just a thing to stop clubs poaching these days.

They're supposed to be like that. Spanish law requires a release clause in contracts and the high fee offers some protection against other clubs/leagues poaching all the good prospects. It isn't usually related to a players market value

Buy out clauses are mandatory in Spain I believe.

Fully aware that it's required but to ante up the release clause by hundreds of millions is bonkers. Even for a player like Braithwaite.

@Spurrific Grumpy, how are you? I felt Gedson's performance today, in my opinion, was very poor. He was probably the worst performer for me today. What did you think? Not saying he can't do a job but if you saw this performance against Ipswich, what would you of said? x

Thought he was shit but it is his second ever game there, so not desperate to cancel the loan

He’s pretty much about average at everything and doesn’t really have a position. I think his best option is to try to bulk a bit and become a #8. He has the skill, he’s just a bit lightweight at the moment to hold his own.
