I rate this guy. Although we haven't seen much I've seen enough to know he's a ball player. Good on the ball, wants the ball and looks to go forward not backwards. Can see a pass as well and execute it. Whether he'll fit into JMs plans is another matter but I'd definitely like to see more of him. Have yet to see him put in a poor performance and haven't screamed 'oh ffs' at him once yet.

Interesting clips, rewatching that now I think he could have been more direct at times. He clearly had the beating of his opponent for pace so he could have just knocked it in behind him so many times
I wouldn't be at all surprised if JM told him not to incase he gets caught out of position. Lets make sure that ball and chain is on nice and tight.

Not convinced yet but I love the attitude and the fact that he is not hiding from the ball and actively looks for it and tries to make things happen. I want to see that attitude from Sessegnon. Not sure what his best position is yet but he will get plenty of minutes with crazy schedule we have. Good prospect for sure.

He was a positive. Not sure where he plays going forward. Hoping that he builds himself up and becomes a strong competitor for the CM area.

I thought he looked progressive. Not sure RB is where he will stay especially if we signs another two RBs but I think he has potential. Always looked, much like Sissoko, that he would look good in a midfield three but not sure if he will get much time in a double pivot.

Never truly tested defensively but a very promising display and he looks a lot more intelligent, dynamic and technically capable than Aurier. I like that he cut inside a few times rather than always running to the byline, and his interplay down the right was sharp. He actually reminds me a bit of KWP, albeit with a bit more height and bravery (which were the reasons I never truly rated him).

In midfield he always looks a bit lost to me - he has the tools but he doesn't seem to know how best to use them. Playing at RB his options are simplified and he actually looks more effective. Obviously very early days but could potentially save us a lot of money and make far better use of our squad options if Gedson works at RB.

Good to see him getting praise from the manager. We should try him out more in central midfield (rather than sissoko). I don't think his performance at the weekend will make any difference to us buying a right back or not. It isn't his position.

A few people have said this.

Using this logic, none of our players looked much better than a League One standard against Ipswich.
I think the point is we need to look at him against better opposition to get a idea of him playing RB can be a long term thing.

He really didn’t have to do much defending Saturday.

Confidence is a huge thing in a player, and a team! We tend to look at players as playing well or poorly. But its so much more than that.

I wasn't impressed with him last year at all, showed a poor attitude a couple of times as well but out of frustration more than anything.

He has ability without doubt and jose clearly rates him. We shall see!

Yeah of course, I think we’d all agree with that.

But think it’s a bit harsh to downplay his performance, when nobody else in our team particularly stood out as a cut above.

Tbf I wasn’t overly impressed anyway. I thought he overplayed it quite a bit especially going inside to much. Also missed a few occasions where he could have played Clarke in but didn’t. Also I think he done about a 100 step over during the game ?.

His athleticism to get up and down was good though.

Let’s see where it takes us I suppose

I mean, obviously? It's just such a pointless post from @littlemandefoe.

He performed well in a pre-season friendly - which are solely designed to give the manager a chance to experiment/look at players/get up match fitness. He doesn't have a point, it's just being negative for the sake of it, because some posters are daring to be remotely positive about one of our players.

I just said it was against an average League One opposition who, in my opinion, would not give much of a test to a player of our club calibre (minus the young academy lads). It's funny how you say 'obviously' yet give me a hard time for mentioning it. Enjoy your week ahead, hope its full of love, laughter and success.

Ffs, don't take the moral highground with me, that's not fair when it comes to internet fighting
