he loves it here, and this is a major positive.

I think it would be a mistake to let him go and keep Doherty.

Levy to Conte : “If Emerson can play like that imagine how good our club signing Spence could be?! I’ve called Sporting and said we won’t bother with Porro but it does mean our budget overall has increased for January so we can now offer £5million for Zaniolo instead of the £2.5mil we’ve currently offered for him.”

Antonio: “BUTTTAAAA DANIELLLLL FOR MY VISIONNN WE NEEDDDA BETTER QUALIIITI AT WING-BACKKKAA, WE NEEDDD A PEDROOO PORROOO AS WELLLAAA

Levy: “Don’t worry Antonio I hear you, you need more bodies in the squad right, hey I’m a creative guy, you don’t get the A level results I did without being creative, so what I’ll do to help you out with this is I’m going to recall Harry Winks and Ndombele so you have more midfielders”

Antonio: “I’m out, ciao” ?

Considering how maligned he is, that's probably the third game this season he's given the best performance on the pitch, which is more than you can say for almost the entirety of the squad. If only he could bloody cross ffs :banghead:
Bang on. And also yet another signing from Paratici where he’s not really got it wrong considering he was signed as a RB, he’s slowly adapting to RWB well now.

Dont think I can think of any signings that Paratici has made at all where they’ve been real disasters tbh, it’s really impressive

I told you all, Emersinho is clear. Best RWB in the world.

He's definitely been a positive over the last two games. I'd say it's mainly down to a subtle adjustment in how he plays. That tweet showing his stats from the Fulham game show he was involved, making tackles and getting up and down the pitch. Those were things he was doing okay before. What they don't show is crosses and it definitely looks like he's not attempting as many of those. So it look like he's keeping it a bit simpler, using his ability to get up and down the pitch but not trying too much when in the final third.

Nope. He’s been excellent.
I agree he has been better but I think we are judging from a poor starting point. Similar to how when your kid starts adding limbs to their stick figures you think they are Picasso. Tongue in cheek obviously but you get what I mean.

I don't want to dig him out, he seems like a great lad and he works hard. He is incredibly fit and he is resolute, with an excellent temperament. These are good skills to have as a RB but he is still lacking as a RWB. It's no coincidence that all the positive stats to come out of his game yesterday were defensive ones.

I genuinely think he could go on to be a decent RB but he will never be an attacking WB. The weaknesses in his game are his crossing and decisiveness in the final third which will always hurt him in that position.

Ah yes, his 1 good game every 10 matches and everyone's back on board.
I don't think that's what people are saying. They are merely acknowledging the fact that Emerson had a good game, which he did. Do I think he's the answer at RWB? Of course not. But that doesn't mean I can't praise him when he's done well enough.

It's also worth pointing out, again, that Emerson was signed under Nuno as a right back. And a defensive one at that. I don't think his defensive game is all that bad, to the point where, on occasions, I've wondered if he wouldn't be more useful as the RCB with Romero in the centre.

My point being, it's not easy for a defensive right back to convert into a RWB, in a Conte team, responsible for a large chunk of attacking creativity. Obviously some parts of his game have been woeful for any professional footballer, regardless of position, but we must consider these facts too.

All that said, I do think we desperately need Porro or any other upgrade ASAP for this system.
