Not sure if I missed it, but he deserved a far more meaningful send-off than Gazzaniga. He was a pivotal part of our best team of recent years, him and Walker were untouchable, up there with the best pairs of full backs in Europe. There should have been a montage at least.

Obviously people didn't like him going to the media, and him being a bit of a knob in the documentary - but, by and large, he wanted the same as the fans did. He tried to use his position to do stuff, while maybe not always doing it the right way, I commend him for it.

Our best left back of the Premier League era by a significant margin, imo.

Good luck to him.

Much as it irked a lot of us at the time when he did his infamous interview, he was actually pretty much spot on with his views (even though better to say this kinda thing in-house only).

At that point we had just sold Walker and finished second and was at our peak under Poch, imagine if we’d replaced right back properly and got at least one over top class player in to keep squad on toes…

Loved Danny Rose will forever be a legend for me. Couldn't give a toss about the negative stuff. Him even pitching up for the youngsters after being released speaks volumes about his character.

He probably fell out with the bald one and refusing to go out on loan and a consequence of that is the rather terse to bland announcement of him leaving.

Small minded by the club..... he deserved a better send off after 14yrs.

Seems odd there was no testimonial or anything. He did a hell of a lot for us really.

Out of contract and still goes to support the boys at the stadium.

I wonder what the advice he gave was? Are we going to see the entire youth team lined up outside Levy's office next season?

In all seriousness, for 2 or 3 years there I loved the guy. His loss of form was quite sad to see. The mistakes he made in his final dozen or so games for us was really alarming.

Rose deserved far more of a send off. It’s shameful again from the club. He spent his entire career here and though what he did was misguided, he was calling a spade a spade at a time when there was clearly much talk of such things within the dressing room.

Rose and Walker were the best full backs in the league for 2 years. It wasn’t even up for debate. He became a pariah for stating the plainly obvious at a time when the 2nd best squad in the league was being paid as the 6th best squad in the league. This, and the lack of ambition at a time when it was called for in terms of strengthening the squad, is why the Pochettino period came to such a grinding halt.

I honestly don’t know, that Levy can think it’s fitting to sign off on a joint announcement with Gazzaniga demonstrates exactly why we are stuck in this infinity loop of not very good football most of the time, while being asked to pay through the nose for it.

Thank you Danny.

Also. He clearly loves the club unconditionally. And it feels like that love is unrequited.

How many other players would go and give the u14s a pep talk when out-of-contract. For free. On the first day after being released. After the way things soured in recent years. After the club parted ways by splitting a single tweet between him and Gazza.

Yeah...as a fan base we've always considered our club to have class. The guy spent his best years here.....yes I know some smart bsodl will tell me so what he didn't play for free.....blah blah.

Anyway it can't be undone now....great knowing there a few of us who appreciated what he brought to the team.

He was my favourite player for a few years, i just loved his outrage at any bad tackle or foul he received and he was one of the few players who had the guts to take a good hard dig at an opposition player he thought was out of order on the pitch and was well up for fighting any other Tottenham players corner too.

Insane goal against the Arsenal under the floodlights on his home debut, all things considered its one of the greatest debut goals EVER scored.

13years and it ends like this, it used to be 10yrs and you got a testimonial. If those youth players like him so much maybe there's a future for Danny around that age group, maybe he feels better able to express himself with them.

Wonder how things would have panned out for him if he had got his transfer at the end of his best season instead of getting injured.

I really hope we invite him back as a guest one day and they show his debut goal and the crowd gives him a right old cheer.

One of my favourite players of recent times. Always genuine, not a soundbite merchant and gave his all and deserves more of a send off than he appears to be getting. Would love him to be a regular with Coytey at half time in the future.

This thread is worth a look.

I wonder where he’ll end up to now he’s a free agent.

If he doesn’t land a new team I hope he has got something else lined up - the club could do with supporting ex-players that may suffer mentally once they leave the game.

Pochettino was moved on as he had basically given up. We were playing atrocious football, the squad were clearly unhappy and so was he. He was saying mad things in the media about leaving if we won the CL before we even played the game.

Danny Rose was excommunicated from our squad for being a dick. He was trying to undermine the manager and all the players knew it. Toby even said as much.

We should all have some fond memories of both but Let’s not rewrite history ffs just to have a dig at Levy. There are plenty of things Levy has done to get him moaned at. Failure to invest at crucial points being the main one. However both the Pochettino and now Rose situations required us to deal with them.

I loved Rose as a player and I think he's a pretty decent guy too.
I wish him all the best for the future and thank him for the many fond memories.
While I would've liked to see him get a better send off, after being here for so long, I'm not going to pretend that he wasn't a bit of a dick towards the end.
I'm sure he had his reasons to behave the way he did but it was to the detriment of the team and the club.

That was a shame but it's not going to tarnish how I remember him.
