Or, better imo, move to 5 x 18 team league divisions.Understandable for this year, think they should be scrapped beyond the 3rd round going forward too. One chance for a payday against one of the big boys if you get that far, then that’s it.
Also think its high time they got rid of the two legged semi finals in the league cup.

This seems sensible to me. They do it in the FA Trophy. For the 21/22 season and beyond they should just make replays optional. If you have two teams who don't want replays then the tie is decided there and then.
If you have one team who want the replay and the other team doesn't then you have the replay.
This makes sure the lower league teams don't miss out financially.

I disagree. There were many cases where lower league teams got a draw only to be smashed in the replay. Now they get penalties.Potentially another nail in the coffin of lower league teams.
Both would be a good move imo. The league pyramid would lose two clubs but I think that’s for the best anyway. There’s clearly an unsustainable amount of lower league professional clubs.

I understand the financial argument for the smaller clubs but the reality is in an already crowded fixture list replays are a no no .
My solution for the financial problem would be . 64 teams seeded top 32 versus the bottom 32 with the lower seeded club having the option of playing home or away . For instance Crewe v Man Unt play at home with a sell out 8.000 crowd or play at old Trafford where the rewards would be much greater it would be Crewe's choice home or away .
Clubs seeded closer together in the lower leagues were never going to solve them clubs financial woes .
Also the thought that all clubs would play out to the end on the day .
In fact I would go even further than that all leave games should have a conclusion in other words a game finishes even then you would go to penalties for an extra point . It would mean every game you attended would have a positive conclusion .
Well it works for me . Counter arguments expected .
