He's another one that would rather play 8 or 10 (positions where we well stocked) when we're in more need for a striker/winger.

Good player but pointless spending money for the sake of it when other positions are more pressing.

I’ve got a feeling we’ll regret this one - just like Paqueta
I'm not sure I regret Paqueta as such.
I don't think we would have singed Madison if we had paqueta, not to mention he would probably be someone like NDombele and trying to flog him after he looked shit playing Conteball.

Not for me, Paqueta i really wanted last summer. I was surprised how many on here didn’t rate him or thought they over payed. Tbf people were saying the same about Tonali having never seen him. But idk, Kudu is a fantastic talent but there is just a mental aspect that makes me think he won’t realise his potential. Could be wrong of course but I don’t feel like it’s a mistake to let him go elsewhere.

Tbh I’m more disappointed about not getting Veiga as I think he would be perfect for the system and I can see him being another one of those Napoli buys that triples in price after 1 or 2 seasons.

Well stocked but not necessarily with quality. The way i see our team at the moment it is Maddison and..... anyone else in no particular order. Bentancur will come back in to that but he will also have to fill in for Bass when he's injured or on ACN duty etc. So who else fills that 8/10 position on a regular basis? Sarr, Lo Celso, Ndombele. Skipp? I dont see any of them being nailed on to start a game and don't think any of them will bring any consistent quality (not yet at least in regards to Sarr). So, given Kudus plays there and can also operate on the right wing (which we are also thin on behind Kulu), it would make sense for a player like this and arguably in my opinion is our most critical need barring maybe a no6.

Lo Celso is a good quality Maddison back up.

Sarr has all the ability to be a future star and can rotate with Skipp until Bentancur returns.

We have 6 players for 3 positions. Signing someone else will just be overkill.

Possibly, I’m not convinced by skipp in the advanced role and I think sarr still has a way to go. I also have a feeling lo celso will possibly go this summer. I’m not saying kudus is the answer but I do think we need a better option at 6 or 8 for depth and, if that person can cover the wide right position that is also an area we could so with additional quality. Even someone like Renato Sanchez could have been useful at 15m, there will be players out there that fit the bill.

Paqueta to city is about to fall through so I wonder if West ham will continue with this one.

This is irrational as hell but I absolutely despise the way Romano uses commas

Although you get a good deal of leeway as a non native speaker in my book, as a professional journalist who writes in the English language, his communication skills are shocking.

It's notable that his articles in the guardian are almost always "with" someone else - like someone else has to rewrite his information into an intelligible form. Must be quite frustrating for all concerned.

Yeah I don't like criticising non-native speakers' English usually, of course, but it's the same thing every time and I'm massively pedantic

I’d rather us sign Nico Williams, he seems to be just what we need.
It’s so odd that nico Williams hasn’t been in any transfer gossip - us or otherwise. Seems to very well thought of and with a release clause in the 35-40M area that is easily attainable for most big clubs.

wonder if he’s a rare case of a player who is comfortable where he is as a guaranteed starter and views that as the best way to continue developing vs risking a big move too soon.

I think that’s generally the feeling of players from that area, no? They’re loyal to their area and team being in the Basque region. Could be that?

He was at the start of the window. Villa wanted him but he supposedly signed a 2 year contract extension that ended their pursuit even tho his release clause remained intact. Tbh considering how good he’s looked at the start of this season im fairly sure he will get a big move next summer.
