Every foreign player we buy requires us to sell a foreign player first otherwise we will have somebody in the first team squad that can't play.

Though a right back is likely to replace a foreigner in Aurier (or even Foyth)

Age is a very important factor here. He is in a similar boat to Sess (who would also have been a regular starter for a bottom of the table club). Very young with bags of potential. I would add to the signing with an experienced other as well though (similar to what we have on the left with the more experienced and wiser Davies). Imagine the young back four of Sess, Aarons, Tanganga and Foyth learning off the experienced Davies, Dier, Alderweireld and one other.

Loads. The arsenal goal for example. Made the initial error, then did his usual jump tackle over the ball allowing lacazette to score.

The Newcastle goal was the worst for me. Tried to clear it and and mis-kicked it directly to a newcastle player just outside the area

Not 100% convinced on this kid if I'm honest, but he is only 20 and is home grown so it totally makes sense.

One of the most idiotic challenges aurier made was against city when he just kicked aguero who was turning away from goal and gave away that pen that luckily they missed ! He is close to giving away a goal a game complete liability! Aaron’s will be quality definitly be an upgrade

I don't know if Aarons will be an upgrade right away, personally. But, at least given his age you know he has the room to become better. Aurier, likely, is just about maxed out and is what he's always going to be at this point.

I think they both could be starters IF we had a good solid core. 2 CDM destroyers and 2 solid CB. Let them bomb up the wings with lo Celso, ndombele and bergwijn playing behind kane

Where's Son dude?

Interesting that the odds on Aarons joining us have shortened to 10/11 on Skybet.

I reckon it’s the most likely one. Probably all tied up and we are just waiting to get Aurier out first. I’m not sure it’s a good signing or not. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Aarons place in the squad isn’t affected by aurier. He replaces KWP.
Selling Serge creates a space for a non HG rb to come in.

I was talking about money. Apparently we haven’t enough to buy a player without selling one if you believe the noises in the media.

Yes, I don’t believe that (at least not to the extent that we can’t finance this deal).
I also don’t see how a 1 in 1 out policy works when we need to bring in players to plug gaps in the squad.
That said, I wouldn’t expect us to speed through deals just to give the manager the longest possible time working with them in preseason, so in some ways I can see this deal being held up until we can wring our the last few pence on the Danny rose transfer.

I don't believe that, I suspect we're not in an amazing place financially but briefing the media that we're skint is probably just another negotiation tactic.

The only thing that worries me about this deal is that Norwich stood firm when Liverpool came in for Lewis. He was probably begging them for the move. Even if Aarons wants us Levy will still have to pay up.

Unless of course they didn't want to lose both fullbacks in one window?

Yes, but to be fair, did the media reports not suggest Liverpool only offered £10 million for Lewis.

One would expect Norwich to stand firm after that lowball offer. That imo was a pretty derisory offer if true.

I’m not sure that’s what happened there.
It sounded very much like Liverpool came in with a low opening offer (£10m reported), and Norwich asked for 20m. Instead of negotiating, they just moved onto their plan b (Tsimikas) who they felt they could get for that amount.
Liverpool had two similar options and took the deal that was easiest to complete. They didn’t want to negotiate. If they did, they’d have agreed on a fee similar to what we did for Hojbjerg.
Id be surprised if we don’t get Aarons in a similar way.
