Dicked us about too many times in the past. No thanks.

THIS

Fuck off van tosser...we have been chasing him for years, he plays us along to get a "big club" now he realises we are big enough for him......its too late you old ****.

THIS

Forget any history we may or may not have had with him the only relevant fact is that he isn't any good.

And the fact that he is old (and so would be strictly short-term), his mistimed (and increasingly horrible) tackles are increasing in frequency, and he would want a massive wage (I presume), make me less than enthusiastic on this one.

But if Aitch thinks he will do a job would need doing...

If Sarge can play as well as he did against Chelsea there is absolutely no point to this transfer, MVB will also get sent off quite a lot. He mis-times tackles enough abroad in slower games, let alone the pace of the EPL, I don't think he'd adjust to the pace at all, and we'd end up with 10 men in a lot of games.

It's not like Hudd and Modric are exactly zippy. I think he would be a good solid signing. But I don't think we need more players in any position apart from strikers.

During his time at PSV he was my absolute idol, but sadly I'm not sure if he would have the legs for the Premier League anymore

I can see us being interested in Van Bommel because let's remember Harry was looking to sign Viera last year.
I would love him as he is a real hard bastard,a leader and still a lovely passer of the ball.

Interesting that you laugh at this thought, yet one of the greatest clubs in the world thinks he's done and have already set up Gustavo from Hoffenheim (a guy Joey called for 2 years ago) because he can do more than just foul. He would add absolutely nothing to our side and the fact that he's even playing now is down to an injury to Scweinsteiger, who they converted from an attacking winger because this guy brings nothing buy the foul to the center of midfield, should ring alarm bells.

Captaincy for some national sides comes through just being a vetran but the main reason he is captain of holland is coz the manager is his Father in law ! The press in Holland tore into the manager and rightly so for even playing him. Holland never play with 2 DM's but he wanted to  . Nigel de Jong in the middle plus kuyt would have been more than enough hussle in the middle.
Also just because a player used to be good doesnt mean he is now

that's funny I coulda swore they were the starting CM for Bayern in the CL final this year

pipe down son to say he'd bring nothing to our squad shows a great deal of ignorance

See my reasons for why he even got into the dutch squad, its not on merit believe me. And who knows why Bayern chose to start him in the centre.

No saying he would bring anything to us shows a pure lack of ignorance....SON. What's he gonna do? Give us red cards. He doesn't pass. He needs a partner to do the breaking up of play. His leadership qualities are dubious because he's an asshole. His job on the Dutch squad was done better by Engelaar, who is a poor man's Huddlestone. You see a name and think, I'd have it. Without thinking about what it means. And just because your in CL final doesn't make you great. You think we should go for Van Buyten? Butt? Hugo Ibarra has started a final within recent memory. As has Steve Finnan and Harry Kewel. Oleguer is available.

You want to be argumentative and aggressive then at least do so with a sound argument. Otherwise you look like.....well, you

We should not even think about considering the idea of entertaining the possibility of coming anywhere near bidding for this guy. Thug, only good for violence. I wrote him off completely a couple of years ago after his attempt to end Messi's life.

oh do one, trying to tell me what I see you tit. I see a player who has won all kinds of shit from la liga to the CL to Dutch player of the year twice, he's a tough tackler but also a tidy enough footballer who would break players like Cattermole or Barton in two. Sure he's got a pretty big cynical side but hey in our league that can help win you a title or in the CL it can help take you far.

and if Bayern are only starting him because of injuries why is he the fecking captain
