So 12 months in almost. How do we feel he's done?

His signings have been excellent.

Romero/Bentancur/Kulu - immense.
Royal - really solid defender, doesn't suit RWB but wasn't signed for that.
Gil - talented but lightweight, could go either way
Gollini - not good enough but served his purpose as back up and only a loan anyway
He’s done a great job in player recruitment with the main three being massive successes. The only thing at the back of my mind is the Gattuso/Nuno shenanigans. That still baffles me to this day.

Agree it's bizarre.

no way we make top 4 without bentancur/romero/kulu, simple as that, even with conte in charge.

presumably now working to a long made plan (as per ITK), several more key signings and we're flying. doing a great job.

I had massive doubts at the start and quite rightly. The manager search and his role in it and also the summer transfers. But January blew that out of the water. He did amazingly well to get players out of the club which in the past Levy wouldn't have done so strongly and we'd probably still have had dele and ndombele here. It felt like he had a clearer outline as to what Conte wanted and he could react better to that. Maybe I expected too much too soon, but he came in with a lot of fanfare.

If he can sort out our scouting and medical teams and bring those up to a higher standard than we have had in the past then he has done a good job and signings will be the cherry on the top of it.

This summer with him and Conte should be exciting if they can convince the players we want to come in, to come.

Fair assessment, he’s also done well in moving people on.

just general points from @Trix primarily mate that there was a big plan for the summer on which everyone is aligned and that it isn't/wasn't dependent on top 4, even though that has probably made things even better. (y)

It's harsh to bring the manager search into it. We should have had a manager tied up before he arrived and pretty much run out of options. In fairness his first choice was Conte but when that didn't come off he just suggested managers he was familiar with and were available (not many were by that time). I'm not even sure Nuno was any better anyway. We were scraping at the bottom after Conte was off. Every other good option had dragged too long and I think we put them off because they all felt like last choice. It was clear Conte or Poch were our only real preferences. After chasing them and missing out it was too late because managers want to be in their job and set for pre-season. It was 100% Levy and Co who fucked that up and shouldn't have been dumped onto Fabio as soon as he arrived.

Definitely made a big impression with the recruitment and management of the first team.

I know we’re impatient but really hope he restructures the scouting and medical department this summer.

He has and the top 4 finish (and financial benefits of such) should help Daniel to see that moving players on, even for less than their ‘value’, can help in the long term.

Well I hold my hand up, I gave Paratici a lot of stick post January window for once again reverting to Juventus buys. But Romero, Bentancur and Kulusevski have all walked straight into the first eleven and improved us massively. Not only are they all perfect for the premier league, they also filled key positions of weakness for us. I can't remember when we last brought in three players who immediately improved the first team to such an extent.

So I'm just going to chill this summer and leave it to the Italians.

We were told repeatedly in the winter that the real business was all about the summer. Big investment and a massive overhaul. I expect 6 in and 6 out at the very least. GIven Conte wants players in before pre-season training starts, it will be an exciting 4 or 5 weeks.

I think we will see the following moved on:

Gollini
Ndombele
Winks
Lo Celso
Bergwijn
Reguilon

I am not sure on whether Sanchez and/or Rodon will be sacrificed but I think at least one of them will to make way for at least one new CB (but hopefully two Bastoni and Bremer).

I believe he's already been working on the scouting

Paratici’s signings from Italy, Romero, Gollini, Bentancur & Kulusevski. 75% success rate, and the one that hasn’t really been a success is on loan with option, not obligation. Go with what you know Fabio, keep scouring Serie A.

Someone needs to photoshop Fab's face onto a Rock gif and shove it in the Paratici thread.
