See that's the thing, if he cant do it, who could ? Buying titles can get you it yes but were not bank rolled, we have to trust the squad and now with a world class serial winner, we have a real chance of actually winning.

This is still so surreal for me, this is a guy who I've grown up hating, criticising, laughing at, despising his managerial style, called him every swear word under the sun and was adamant that he'd never be a Spurs manager to actually being enchanted by him and having a man crush and believing that he's gonna bring us joy and win us some titles over the next few years, it's just utterley bizarre.

You are going to feel like such a used cum sock when he's sacked in March having sold Son, Kane and Seesgnon in January and we're two points behind Southampton in 19th... :D

Am I the only one who (whisper it quietly) actually doesn’t really want Mourinho to change?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want him poking opposition coaching staff in the eye, picking feuds with club doctors or calling our players fat ***** in public.

On the other hand, I don’t want him to turn into mr respectful, nice guy either. Not because I don’t admire that in a person, but because that is not him. He needs that edge, it’s part of what makes him successful and lights fires under players and gets under the skin of the opposition.

Part of me wants him to eyegouge Klopp having just taken the crucial title points off liverpool at NWHL...

It's not a very nice part of me tbf...

It will all be roses and chocolate come a win on Saturday afternoon, I’d imagine something very different if we lose!

He's still that mate. You can see the ambition hanging out of him.

He just looks at peace with himself, not as sulky looking.

It was a hugely positive opening. He has the hunger, condifence and belief... It's just all a bit more palatable.

Perfect combination imo.

The singular thing I heard in the presser that might have been the only negative comment on Pochettino, but equally it might have been a coincidence btw, was "I'm going to be very careful not to cause confusion in their (the players) brains".

Am I the only person who thinks we've got a perfect Mourinho Squad? He was trying to lure half of our squad to Manchester 2 years ago, but levy was having none of it.

So Jose activated the back up plan, and came to us to get the team he wanted, and hopefully, he works wonders with it.

I'm fucking hyped to see how he goes! Never wanted to watch us play as much as I currently do.

And one thing I forgot to say, he'll turn these fragile players into mental rocks. I can't see any more choking at the lane

I'm partially excited because I do think a change was needed, and as much as we should all love Poch for everything he achieved, it was clear something wasn't going right and it didn't look like he was capable of turning it around.

However we've appointed a manager who, whilst undeniably successful in past jobs, has achieved that success largely through spending an inordinate amount of money.

As a club we do not have a history of spending an inordinate amount of money.

For me these two things don't go hand in hand and that's what worries me greatly.

If Mourinho continues his normal approach, and Levy continues his, then I cannot see any situation where this is a success. But I suppose we'll have a better understanding of that come the end of January.
Lots of managers spend a lot of money without success.

It definitely won't. We could well lose our first game under a new manager trying to instill new ideas in a squad that is used to the same voice for 5 years. I'm not expecting miracles from day 1.

I may be completely mistaken here, but is the geezer on the left the old fitness coach whom was replaced by Poch’s son?

Haven’t seen him around the club or match day squad for ages

I bet–if someone bothered to check– there'd be a correlation between Poch getting his freshly-graduated no-experience son a kushy job overseeing fitness at the club and the propensity for our players to get injured.

Nepotism, huh.

His interview was in my mind and in football terms inspirational and churchillian in its content .
I have never listened to a manager who has instilled so much optimism and I will be amazed if we don't win Saturday .
My favourite piece was his intimating that some players need to learn to play for the team and less for themselves after all it is a team game
