So they still haven't beaten anyone good in the league yet, or a team who would be traditionally classed as a top 6 club (Arsenal)?

Not only have they not won a big game, they are 4 points worse off this year after 15 games than last year and they still have not found the right positions for Werner or Havertz.

Lampard is an absolute joke of a manager. He has the nerve to blame the players today yet he does not answer for why he’s playing two unfit fullbacks, why they cross every attack but not use Giroud and why Jorginho is still on pens.

I don’t know how to break this to you but Chelsea are above us in the league.

Love reading the first couple of pages of this thread. We were slagging off Jose back then too....

They spent £220m in the summer to be worse than they last season. I don’t give a shit how they compare to us in the table, that has nothing to do with Lampard underachieving with this squad.

I still class Frank as a rookie manager. He is fortunate enough to have the backing of the chairman (with considerable funds) and the fans. I was surprised with his first season in charge of Chelsea with no transfers. The test will be if he just treads water or makes progress.

But this is his third season in charge as a manager. I’m not expecting him to be perfect but a lot of his mistakes are what a rookie manager would make, not someone on year 3.

Playing two of your best players out of position (Werner on the wing, Havertz as a deep midfielder), and then calling them out when they don’t perform like you expect.

His stubbornness with tactics, if the crosses are not connecting, Chelsea do not score. They are as one dimensional as Arsenal but with better players.

He moved to a big club too early in his career. He needed to stay in the Championship, learn more then take a crack at a top club.

I said earlier in the season Chelsea dont have a good squad, as they have no cornerstones and no one really knows who their no.1 player is for every position

Since then I think a few have come out as mainstays but there are questions marks all over the team

You sign Ziyech, Werner, Havertz and Pulisic then add them to Abrahams and Hudson-Odoi who none of these 6 players are premier league proven as well as Mount and Giroud(whose 3rd choice striker) its little wonder none of these players have settled

Then the defence is changed far too much

The German players are stupid for joining them in the first place when they should be looking for teams that will build around them rather than trying to fit with other players.

They haven't proven themselves at the highest stage yet to be part of a big team

That defence went about 6 games without conceding a month or so ago. Their form has dipped, not because of the defence, but because their forwards have been missing too many chances to win games. Reminds me of another team closer to home in fact...
