That defence went about 6 games without conceding a month or so ago. Their form has dipped, not because of the defence, but because their forwards have been missing too many chances to win games. Reminds me of another team closer to home in fact...
My point is that the defence is chopped and changed often that I dont think we know their strongest back 4, though the fullbacks

They seem adamant that Zouma and Christensen are their 2 best CB's and Im not sure I agree with that or if Thiago is great either

Also it was 5 games against Burnley, Krasnodar, Man Utd, Seville and 10 man Rennes. Other than Sevilla they were all struggling at that time

They did well to get 5 games but the point I'm making is there is alot of question marks surrounding that team except for the fullbacks

Hasnt Zouma played every game? They have had a settled back four of James (12 starts) silva(11) zouma (14) chilwell (12) in the league.

Frank Lampard is not a football manager. He is holding this team back from being serious title rivals to Liverpool and I'm fucking loving it.

Seems to me like they made a big change in strategy.

Last season they had the transfer ban and played a lot of their younger players. They finished 4th and seemed to be building well.

Then their ban was lifted and they went against what they'd been building by buying 7 first team players. This tactic has almost never worked.

How long before Roman gets itchy feet? Someone like Tuchel ticks boxes (more a question on my behalf than a statement) Interesting times.

My advice is to stay away from the 'Let's laugh at......' threads in the lead up to our own matches. It's never yielded anything but misery for me.

Or just rename them "The ______ Discussion Thread". As most of the time we've got no reason to laugh at the other teams.

Apart from Arsenal, they'll always be joke.

Chelsea have Villa and City left in the Christmas period and Fulham and Leicester in the two games after the FA Cup.

On current form you wouldn't back them to get more than 4 points from those. Roman will start to feel the itch if that happens.

Yeah they should have stuck to playing the youth as they have enough youngsters collected!

But instead went onto typical Chelsea mode throwing money at expensive shiny foreign imports.

Someone of Tuchel's calibre and profile would be such an obvious fit for Chelsea.

Let's hope it doesn't happen.
It does, I suppose it depends on what sort of a challenge he wants after PSG, the Prem and Chelsea would be inviting for sure.

Probably premature to write Lampard off anyhow, and as others have mentioned, I don't take that much pleasure in Chelsea's struggles over the last few games, it always comes back to bite me when I do!

Tuchel is massively overrated to be fair. He's be better than Lampard but I don't see him as someone who would come in and turn them into title challengers.

I know what you mean but he'd do a far better job than Fat Frank.

It's the kind of job anyone could have success in such is their ability in the market.

They've never really had a project but I guess that when you're winning trophies regularly it doesn't matter. It's only when the tactic of frequently changing managers stops working then it becomes a problem.

A tactical coach who coaches patterns of play and possession play, high pressing would be better with this team because they have those type of players who fit that bill and Tuchel is that manager, they're only 2 wins of a title challenge, it's not exactly difficult to improve on Lampard right now.

Allegri would be better imo

0-3 at Half Time to City and they’re having a shocker. How much longer will Roman watch Fat Frank pouring his £250m down the drain before deciding he has to do something?
