Wasn't he talking about goalscorers when he said that?
Of course he was but it doesn't make for a good story though.

I think the problem is people started getting their hopes up when he got us back within a sniff of the top 4, now that's looking unlikely some are shitting themselves with rage.If he fails, so be it: but be reasonable and give him a chance before we dismiss him outright. He’s succeeded on the biggest stages in football yet somehow he’s not good enough for us before he’s even had a fair chance? I’ve seen Labradors in season with more sense than some of the shit on here
One of my fervent principles in life is to never agree with people with numbers in their name. But on this occasion I simply have to agree with youI think the problem is people started getting their hopes up when he got us back within a sniff of the top 4, now that's looking unlikely some are shitting themselves with rage.
The season's a write off really, the sooner people just accept that the better.
Then look at the total points across a whole period - not just a portion that suits your view. The number of points achieved is not valid? I, pretty sure anyone in football will tell you otherwise.
We had the joint 2nd best points to games ratio before Sonny got injured. Before that spell we achieved 25 points in 24 games, relegation form and we went nearly a calendar year without being able to win a game away from home. If you wish to admit it or not we weren't a good team before Mourinho got sacked so o struggle to see why people think our style would change just like that. He has been in charge for 3-4 months and took us from 13th-14th in the league to 1 point away from 4th.
I think a fair few Spurs fans been to face reality. Pull their heads out of the sand and remember exactly why Pochettino got the sack. With an even worse nucleus of players now available to Mourinho (no plaayers player of the year in Sissoko, no Lloris for large spells, no Davies our number 1 left back), now no Sonny, no Kane for 14-15 games he still outperformed Pochettino's last spree months at the club. You're being unreasonable because it's Jose
I'm always strangely more suspicious when a coach has a honeymoon period that lasts for a period longer than 10 games or so.Thanks, Tucks.
And right there, around 9:30, in the verbal equivalent of black and white, he says coming in midseason is a factor in how much he can affect training.
So, can someone tell me this: if a manager coming in mid-season cannot change training and tactics in a significant way, how can a new manager be expected to totally overhaul a club's situation in the space of three months?
We have had our new manager bounce - we took a lot of points in the early stages and now we're in the for the grind that always comes after that bounce.
People should listen and not let their prejudices determine their thinking. That said, might as well ask for the Moon.
Poch had no game plan from March onwards last year either! Then look at the total points across a whole period - not just a portion that suits your view.
Every team over a season, Liverpool apart this year, have periods where things go well or not. Where fixtures may be advantageous to win more points, where injuries hit or do not.
When you do that you see the real position, and quite frankly its pretty poor.
Anyone can make excuses but facts are that we generally have no structure on the pitch, have been outplayed by most teams and have lost our way.
As stated before this started when Poch was in charge as he was not backed but at least you saw a game plan. Thats not there now.
Leaving the ground Sunday i heard so many disgruntled voices - had his day;
formations, or lack of; substitutions; holding Parrott back when forward needed to ensure insufficient time to make impact.
Trust me want Spurs to succeed just not convinced Jose is the man Levy thinks he is and i remain to be convinced by him.

I suppose it’s not good for him to come out and say we need that as what does that say to the current players. Jose knows football so he’ll know exactly what we need but he’s also said it will take us a few more transfer windows to re build the team compared to a Man City or Chelsea etc who dominate the market. Is this a bit of Déjà vu

I think it’s obvious that we need to upgrade:
RB
LB
CB
DM
ST
possibly another AM if Lamela can’t stay fit but mainly the 5 positions above are what we need and if we got a quality CB, LB and Striker and DM if Ndombele can’t be trusted then we should be extremely strong next season but let’s see.
Just by signing another striker that enables us to have far more attacking options rotating in midfield instead of wingers having to cover us up front so that should be 100% priority. Then we need to replace Jan and Rose and ideally get a better back-up to Aurier.
Im certainly not expecting miracles in the summer but I hope we can add minimum 3 quality players and if we do I think that will make a big difference especially with Kane son and sissoko back.
will be interesting to see the amazon documentary to see what actually goes on behind the scenes if they show us any player target and transfer discussions like they did in the Leeds and Man City ones.

Fuck me, the Coronavirus thread is more uplifting than this one.
And then considering some of the stuff our lot come out with, we have the gall to laugh at AFTV and how toxic they are.If people want to shit themselves wihnrage at the fact we have lost Eriksen, Kane and Son all pretty much at the same time then that's up to them to get angry about something that is uncontrollable. If people want to be babies about it and sulk and point fingers when in reality we were actually starting to out the first piece of form we'd seem since we lost the Champions League final that's up to them..
