Without those key mistakes we would of lost by the same scoreline eventually just an issue of timing.
Really? Do you drive a tricked out De Lorean?

It is quite possible that the end result would have been the same. It is also possible that we stayed in the game, gained further confidence and got the away goal, going on to nick it.

Unfortunately we’ll never know because the errors put paid to any chance of us causing an upset.

Emergency Pl meeting tonight to discuss potentially postponing PL fixtures due to covid-19 outbreak. Jose Mourinho is believed to be the man that will chair the meeting and will propose a 4 week break.

Don't need a time machine mate if you saw the first game then you would have noticed that the tie was over, they overwhelmed us at home did anyone expect any different away unfortunately conceding two early goals meant it was over quicker than it could of been.

No, the club haven't 'ignored it' we signed Llorente, didn't we? This time arround, the world was so short of 'back-up' strikers, even United, one of the world's greatest clubs were left with the only option of signing Ighalo when Rashford got injured. You'd think a club like United would have their pick of such players, but even they were left with that dummy, so what chance did we have of finding anayone suitable for our cause?
There is no such thing as a world striker shortage they are there if you are brave and bold enough to go out and get one.
Like I said we have struggled for years in that department either we don't have the numbers or the quality because the club is not committed to providing one.

I just can't see levy changing his stance on spending and yet many claim it's a big summer ahead, but we have been here before with the same boring approach to transfers.

It will be interesting to see for sure but was last summer typical or atypical?

Even if we don't alter our strategy in terms of money spent, surely the point is that we spend within our means and we have a bigger means now - you just have to look at our wage bracket compared to what it was 2-3 years ago.

We will just have to wait and see. I genuinely don't know which way it's going to go.

Question if we need to sell someone big to fund a couple of big transfers, just like Liverpool did, who would you sell?

I think people are misreading what he said.
I think what he was implying is that spending money doesn't necessarily guarantee success.

It's still shitty to hear from the chairman of a badly depleted team as a fan, but I think that's the point he was trying to make.

That's the way I read it.

Obviously the big one is Harry if they can get away with it they would do it but I suppose Alli could go although his value has dropped the last season or so.
Son is another one who would fetch a bit and he is in his late twenties now I think so they could cash in there I suppose.

PL will get suspended today, it's inevitable.

Brillant news for us to get Kane and Sissoko up to speed, maybe even Son as well.

I reckon a month's suspension.

The intriguing thing about our current situation is the fact that it boils down to a few things at the moment.

Effort and Intensity. It seems like we don’t have any, literally any juice left in the tank. From the first minute onwards, we don’t have half the energy or vigor we’ve had in recent years. The past 12 months have taken a toll on our squad, and I don’t really blame them. The fact that this in turn affects other areas of the pitch, it leads to my second point.

Tactics. Mourinho hasn’t been perfect since the injuries started piling up, however before the new year period we were playing pretty sound football. He wasn’t afraid to make changes or alter formations and tactics to suit our opponents so the only reason this is failing to materialize now is because our options off the bench are extremely limited. With the lack of effort and intensity, there will always be a drop in concentration and therefore loss of tactical nuance. A preseason to implement ideas and get a bit of a rest will go a long way to improving this. This negative approach we are seeing at the moment is a means to an end, I’ve already said this elsewhere.

Taking both of these problems into account, the blame for our current situation is completely misdirected at both Mourinho and some of the players. I’m a supporter of the board and Levy, but the shocking recruitment before this past summer was the biggest contributing factor to the problems we are experiencing at the moment.

Absolutely no coach on the planet could get a tune out of these players until they had a rest. Or have been sold and replaced. Whichever it may be, it’s not going to happen until the season is over.

The squad as a whole needs a rest and a mental reset. With this will come a new verve and vigor to the start of our season. The tactics will be in place and hopefully settled into the players minds. Recruitment would’ve taken place, and it’s been sourly needed. That doesn’t make Mourinho a Cheque book coach, it’s simply what this team needs. We will then have a silver lining on the horizon.

From that moment onwards, I will judge JM but he will always have my full support. If given the chance I believe he will deliver.
Sure, summer 18 and not backing Poch with the outs the following summer has been costly, but arguably worse was January when he failed to get a striker in imo. If it wasn't for COVID-19 we'd finish 10th and in large part it will be because of that cock up.

Take away those 3 successive and highly fortunate wins against Norwich, Villa and Man City and replace with a couple of draws and we would still be very much in the mix. I do agree, however, that it was almost certainly going the same way with Poch too.

But every team scrapes through to wins against the run of play or supposedly lucky goals not just Spurs.
