I wouldn't personally have picked either of those

Although I am not sure either would be doing any worse than Jose in this current run

I think he has written off this season and wants to rebuild

I don't think he is the man to get the most out of modest means, I don't think he's going to get riches to spend under Levy and I think its a poor match

It's up to Jose to prove he still has got what it takes to be a top manager in the modern game, it's unlikely he will achieve any of the objectives he was brought in for this season

He will get a transfer window, preseason and start with a clean slate, we'll see next season what he has left to give
For sure.

I think we'll have to sell Kane and Lloris first though, we haven't got any money.

I'm using my blind hope to believe that all this talk of having no money and not wanting a rebuild is nothing more than posturing to avoid being taken to the cleaners on prices

I do fear that a big reason for Jose's appointment was that it was perceived he could use his prowess as a great manager to lift the current squad back in the CL this year and keep the money rolling in

I think it's highly unlikely he will achieve this now however and that does make me worry that we really won't have the money needed to invest and turn things around

More than likely mate. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up in a relegation fight next season. No Kane. No Sonny. It'll be Ben Foster in goal ...

I Don't get why you are being so pedantic

does it offend you that others have differing opinions on Jose to you?

No one thinks we'll end up in a relegation battle next year

Do you think we will be where we want to be though? do you think Jose will take us further than we reached under Poch? over even back to that level?

I personally think we'll be in a similar situation to Arsenal when Emery took over and it will end in similar fashion

Would they? The noise only started after the first game we lost Sonny for (bar a few hardcore types) Since then it's been constant and there are no excuses, no time, no patience, just the same bollocks reworded game after game.

Thank fuck me and you aren't season ticket holders, eh?
Why do you voice so much disregard towards Pochettino and this immense optimism for Mourinho. Whilst I respect your views, surely even the most optimistic of people can see that Mourinho is so wrong for this football club for so many reasons, which many of these reasons have previously been well documented.

I don't know, I'm the 'wait and see' sort of fan that tends to judge things in the moment rather than preempt the future considering the present seems like the end of days.

What else is there to say? Time. It's all I can give.

Wasn't that Pleat?
[/QUOTE]

Pleat has always had Levy's ear, and will have pushed for it/confirmed it.
However Dele was from one of Mitchell's former clubs, he had been with him since the start of his career, and certainly would have recommended him as an option. Dele was never expected to have the instant impact he did though, speaking to his adopted father, he always thought he was only going to be used in cup matches in first season, but injuries at the time forced a situation, and the rest is history.

The 8 players brought in under his watch included Dele, Son, Trippier, Wanyama and Alderweired, with only Janssen, WImmer and Njie not making it. I would say that is a very successful record with us, and significantly better than what we did in the following 4 seasons since he left us.

What disregard have I actually shown Poch other than saying at the time, after the fact and recently he got the final (the biggest final of this clubs history) wrong?

I want to understand what it is people seem to think I am doing to the memory of Poch and the work he put in during that three year period where we challenged.

Mourinho is wrong for this club because?

Some of you just can't be pragmatic. That's not my fault.

This is a fan football forum for fans to express and discuss their opinions

why does it bother you that others have opinions on how they think things will turn out?

Everyone will wait and see also, but in the mean time, fans watch games and talk about what they see and what they think

Wouldn't football very boring if all fans just waited to see what happened all the time and never expressed their opinions? part of being a fan is thinking you know better than the manager and chairman and telling all your friends in the pub what should be done

I haven't stopped you expressing your opinions, I mean you're still expressing them, what is it I am stopping you doing?

I didn't say you were stopping me, I asked why you seemed offended by other fans having opinions about the probability of Jose being a success and why you kept answering so pedantically instead of simply discussing differing opinions

I'm not stopping any one.

I mean you could have stopped not having a debate with me ages ago. I'm not keeping you here.

You always seem to answer in a manner that doesn't seem to relate to what I have said

Maybe we are on different wavelengths and don't understand each other

I haven't suggested you are stopping anyone, just like I never said I didn't have any hope

All I have said is based on what I have seen, I have major doubts that Jose is a good fit for the club and I believe his tactics are yesterdays news

but you always answer very pedantically instead of simply discussing opinions, I'd much rather hear your opinions as to what you've seen thus far to encourage you that Jose has made or will make positive impacts and take us back where we want and need to be as a football club

Maybe we're not on the same wave length.

You've envisioned the future under Mourinho and I haven't.

What else is there to talk about?

It’s so obvious that he’s not right for us. The general premise was that he’d take our nearly mean over the line into winners but that’s not the situation anymore. Anyone deluding themselves into giving him time, signing, a preseason or whatever are so off the mark. We need to call a spade a spade. Levy tried to rejuvenate a disillusioned squad with a pragmatic winner and it didn’t work.

I've just given my opinion

I've not said it is set in stone, I've said many times I am not an expert

There is plenty to talk about

You felt strongly enough to bother quoting me to make sarcastic comments about every and anything I posted on the subject

So why not use that energy to discuss your thoughts on what you have seen under Jose and what your opinions are about how successful he may be and why?

And if you really don't think it is worth discussing because it will all just unfold in time, why are you even in a thread discussing Jose in the first place? surely if you think there is no merit to discussing opinions about the future under Jose, you wouldn't waste your time replying to people who have voiced their opinions on what they think will happen in the future

I said i won’t moan about him anymore and I'm going to try to stick to that while remaining in the debate. The fact that Kane supposedly wants to leave, he's taken a look at what Mourinho has to offer and decided to try and leave the club as soon as possible.

How do we look at this within the context of giving Mourinho time?
The problem is that even if Mourinho shouldn't have time - what can we as fans do? Does Levy realistically pour more financial compensation down the drain? All this will affect the transfer budget even more.

Let's just say for arguments sake that you'd wanted Ancelloti and he'd struggled like Mourinho has been. Hand on heart would you still think that it was the wrong appointment or are you partly influenced by not having the manager that you would have chosen?
