As losing creates a lack of confidence winning games instils it so they need to start winning games.
Oh, it's as simple as that? Apologies, I thought managing a football club was a complicated endeavour, but apparently it's not.

Can we play stop this "but-we-were-good-against-Wolves-crap". I see multiple people saying it again and again.

Wolves played thursday and lost 3-2 to Getafe and was knackered. We had a whole week to prepare. And we still LOST.

Did you watch the first game we played against them? We got absolutely destroyed in that game by a free flowing Wolves-side. And we still won.

By playing anti-football classic Mourinho style.

It was the first time I remembered that we should never have gotten Jose as our manager. It was disgusting to watch us play that way, and win.

Yeah I wasn't happy afterwards, not even after a win. The first time in my life I have felt that way.

Didn't you feel that way when Pochs prime team got battered by wolves? We were properly embarrassed that day. 3-1 was it. Could of been a lot more. They cut us open like their name was scissorhands.

Because they've been run into the ground for 5 years and aren't physically capable of doing it for prolonged periods anymore?
I'm pretty sure it's far less physically demanding to press from the front with 65% possession, opposed to sitting deep, chasing shadows and having 40% possession. Don't the experts say it's far less physically demanding having the ball then chasing it for long periods.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I agree in hindsight I wish we had never reached that final it would literally have been better.
It only really covered the cracks anyway as out form had been patchy, the football pedestrian and we had lost the high pressure football that we had been playing a while before. We had become very predictable.

That's not what we're doing when we sit deep though, theres no 'chasing shadows' going on.

Having read most of this thread for the past few weeks, I can understand everyone's frustration.

Most of us (reluctantly) realised Poch had to go as he had lost the dressing room and the team was underperforming, or so we thought. By appointing Jose, a large portion of us were skeptical but thought we'd get a "tactical" manager with a proven track record of winning things who could do so with this group.

For many reasons, we are no better than before. The lack of player succession planning and transfer activity has really come to bite us in the backside. Some of the players seem past it, and it seems like Jose could be too, which is a shame as I'm actually warming to him.

My biggest concern is that I had hoped he had learnt from his sabbatical, by developing new tactics and a way of playing. Furthermore, I thought he could tighten up the defence.....but I don't see any evidence of any of this. Hence, those of us who were skeptical when he was hired, now think this was a huge mistake.

I think I'm prepared to give Jose the benefit of the doubt but I think there does need to be signs of progression before the season ends. If the club has made a mistake with Jose, then we could be set back years and the place will really become toxic. We've already lost 4 in a row with Burnley, Leipzig, Utd and Spammers to come.

Also, we have the best stadium in the world, state of the art training facilities paid for by loyal fans who pay the highest prices anywhere. I think we fans deserve some success. The only thing we won in the last decade was the Audi Cup!!

Oh yes very much so. But maybe just maybe we wouldn't have reached this chasm of football existence. Or one could also argue that if we just had won the sodded final...

I am saying it now Wolves and Norwich got lucky as in both games we had two guilt head chances to kill the game off .Unfortunately we do not seem to possess clinical goalscorers able to put those chances alone .
You just have to look at Leicester's results since the have been without Vardy and they still have Ineacho .
Saying plenty of teams play without a No 9 is pretty vague to me it is only the likes of Barcelona and Juventus with superstars like Messi and Ronaldo that can afford to play without a No9 . If there is plenty of teams playing on purpose without a No 9 then name them .
Incidentally Leicester still had Ineacho to play when Vardy was injured it just reinforces what effect it has on the team without the main goalscorers .

Of the team that played our last two games, who are the players that have been run into the ground for 5 years?

I'll give you Jan and Dele.
I'll be charitable and give you Winks as well.

The rest are either new players or in positions where they have always been rotated heavily (Davies, Lucas, Dier).

The squad is in the middle of an injury crisis and a painful rebuild. Don’t write Jose off just yet, give him the summer and I feel we’ll be right up there next season. I still say the worst game this season was at home to Newcastle. I was sat in the stand and knew the squad and manager had gone stale. It was a very sad day.

Had it for 15 odd years on here then late last year admin inbox me saying it's not appropriate. I never had a choice in the matter, the change was forced
Your new picture IS somehow appropriate? Rather see boobs (legal) than smoking weed (encouraging breaking the law). :oldman:
