At least he’s backing Dier. That will go down well with the players. Could play into his hands quite nicely that.
A fair reflection on where we are, but this is far from tough luck. Yes Poch and JM are not absolved from any criticism. That comes with the job. Surely what is clear now is the people at the top had the responsibility to know the consequences of all funds being diverted to brickwork and not the squad. It's a tough season but really how much if that is down to Mourinho?
Record signing Ndombele hasn't settled, £30m Sessegnon hampered all season with injuries, Lo Celso long injury when he joined and just coming good in the last month or two, Lloris, Davies, Kane, Sissoko, Son out long term, Lamela still not over his stop/ start time with us, Vertonghen legs have gone, Foyth not good enough for what we need, Eriksen half arsed until he fucked off. It's like taking a car, removing the engine, wheels, seats and gearstick and then blaming the guy sitting in it for not getting it involved in a rally.
We have a team built on scraps at the moment, I honestly don't see how we can see it any other way apart from it being tough luck. 12 players listed above who have had turbulent seasons in one way or another in a squad of 24-25. Our club has taken an absolute battering we just need to get on with it and face the reality that it will clearly lessen the quality we can deliver game by game.
The place is getting far too toxic, which will only magnify as performances and results continue to be unacceptable. I think the next week to 10 days will be interesting!
Yes but he was taking over a completely schizophrenic squad who had no identity at all. Then imposed an identity which produced clear green shoots of potential by the end of the year.
Mourinho is taking over a squad to make Top 4 and/or win a cup. That's not happening. SO we look for green shoots. An identity.
I believe and hope he will do it as he's done many times before. But you can't blame the pessimists for calling doomsday at the moment can you? It's grim.
You don’t want it mate. She may look ok but the sex is shite! Now I’ve got an STI and I miss my wife....PM me her number
Do you seriously think the players decided to sit deep and invite the mighty Norwich to come and attack us? Did they then decide to have a go at playing football for the last 15 minutes? There's one person who made those calls and the players followed his instructions.
I’ve been behind Mourinho since day one but I agree. It’s not the way to attack (or not!) these games. But I think he’s hamstrung by injuries and tiredness in attacking players. Bergwijn, Lucas and Dele were visibly shattered by ten minutes into the second half. They just don’t have it in their legs to attack and defend all game. It’s a real problem and won’t change from between now and until we get Kane and Sissoko back so everyone will just have to suck it up I’m afraid.
It was so predictable too.

What do any of you think Poch would’ve done differently in this situation? We were 14th in the table, eliminated by Colchester in the EFL Cup, he’d allegedly lost the dressing room, we’d been on the backend of an absolute battering at home to Bayern, we’d only won once away from home in an entire calendar year and that was with a mostly fresh squad, nowhere near the level of injuries we have now.
I’m putting anyone on ignore who stupidly argues that he “deserved time”.
I disagree. When Son and Kane both were playing, I was very much entertained.Exactly, people blame it on injuries, but even when Son and Kane were fit we still weren't exciting to watch.
I stand by my 'horrified' selection on the poll, which was made on the day of his appointment

Course he is going to back Dier! He has taken all the headlines etc away from that awful performance
This is the whole problem with appointing Jose he polarises fan bases! Normally it takes best part of three seasons to happen but with us it’s seems to have happened in space of three months.
the fans who will be Jose loyalist no matter what.
Then there is a section of fans some of that down to his history and large section of the base not wanting him appointed in first place. They were always going to start voicing their opposition to him as soon as things turned sour.
Then there is a section which I’m probably in which wasn’t enamoured with is appointment but we’re willing to give him time and to see if he was going to get the backing from the board . However things are going wrong very very quickly and yes there are reasons for that injuries to two star players not having time to work on implanting tactics etc. The big concern though is despite the injuries is the style of play and tactics he has implemented. It so so negative in past two games we have shown in brief glimpses that when we play football and attack teams we look half decent. But for some reason and I can’t believe it’s not down to Jose’s instructions the players seem to play this safety first negative brand of football for most of the games. another concern for me is the players body languages pretty much to a man it looks awful. which is pretty concerning so early in to Jose’s reign. As a club we are going to be fed to wolves so to speak if we sack him before giving him a proper chance and backing.
I’m not sure what point I’m trying to make but just know feel really sad about the current situation and so polarised about what is the best way for the club to proceed and get out of this mess.
I do agree and I think the club has criminally under invested in the squad...however, loads of people, including JJ, has said that in the year we spent nothing, Levy had agreed a deal to sign Ndombele before Lyon moved the goalposts and similarly with De Jong too. After that, Poch stropped and turned down every player Levy offered to him. I think Poch is just as much to blame as the board for that summer. The main issue isn’t Poch or Mourinho, it’s the critical lack of investment/scouting over a 2/3 year period which allow this squad to degrade. Given a balanced squad I’d expect results with either manager to be pretty decent. Poch’s time was up just like so many of our managers but it didn’t have to be had we invested at the right time in the right players and not let everything go stale, that’s the shame of it.
And if Mourinho isn’t properly backed it’s going to go stale a lot quicker than the 5 years we had with Poch.
We don't want him to fail but he ain't doing a lot to convince us that he won't..I suspect if he didn’t back Dier then you’d use that to throw at him instead. Maybe he just can win with fans who want to see him fail?
There is a huge amount that needs addressing in the summer and I truly believe only next season we can judge anything - problem now is damage limitation between now and may and working out how we address the huge change needed
Lloris - need to start considering his successor
Aurier - wrong attitude, not good enough
Verts and alder - both need to start being faded out
Sanchez, foyth, Tanganga - all will need time?
Davies - great squad player - really needs upgrading though
DM - non existent
Winks - good squad player
Dier - squad player at best
Sissoko - squad player
Ndom - Christ knows where that will go
Lamela - needs to be moved on
Alli - needs to seriously think whether us wants to continue football - looks completely disinterested
That’s prob only half of it as well!!
