If Troy comes in and struggles though, do you think that people will accept that? I'm a bit worried that already he's being hyped a heck of a lot.

Thats the ludicrous situation we find ourselves in, pinning our hopes on a teenager because our owners have let us down

The reactions are not knee jerk... We've had 3-4 months of this turgid, insipid shite to contend with from a manager who self promotes to be the world's best.. We're being short changed and writing off this season is not an acceptable option.

We've had a whole season of shite, turgid football, not just the last 3/4 months mate, this is what transition usually means mate, sooner people realise this the better they learn to cope I reckon.

I would hope so...surely people will not lose their shit if he finally plays and isn’t Ronaldo.

For me he has to play . If he has a few poor games I will not be upset as at least we are trying something different with a player we all have high hopes for. Norwich midweek is the perfect game for him to play in as they like to play football and hopefully he will have some space to move into and show what he can do.

‘mentality mistakes’ according to Jose.

looks more to do with quality and set-up to me.
Whatever it is, I think that as @Shadydan pointed out, people will find it a lot less frustrating if they just expect this for the rest of the season. If it's like this at the same time next season then people will be justified in feeling concerned about Mourinho even if Levy still backs him.

Would they bollocks.
If the fans won't give one of the most decorated managers in world football time, what are the chances on them giving the latest flavour of the month who hasn't achieved fuck all any sort of breathing space?

We're in this state because of factors that are solely at the feet of Levy and Poch...Levy's going nowhere, so screaming 'Enic Out' into the internet is completely pointless.
What we do know is that under several managers Levy has assembled squads that compete for titles, and get to finals, and I'd feel a lot more confident of getting over the line with Mourinho in charge than any other manager we could realistically appoint.

What's it been... 3/4 months?
People just need to suck it up, this season was fucked before Mourinho came in
.

Im certainly sucking it up but in three or four months youd expect a more significant improvement than what has been shown on the pitch so far particularly defensively if nothing at all. Results had improved but lets not beat around the bush here - I think Jose has also made the same mistakes Poch had made...

I agree the poor performances/squad etc were present before Jose so i dont think many are blaming him for that but it goes back down to whether there has been improvement an identity etc...

This season is a write off and need to prepare for next season now and by that I mean off the pitch i.e. signing players now ready to come in early (Euros notwithstanding) and starting early...

Thought we played well in spells again. We possessed the football, strung passes together, moved the ball, even looked dangerous on the cross.

At the back, not so good. Learning curve is hard.

Jose still has my backing.

Not a lot else to say because just lately I think I've been reported up to the hilt by people.

Except none of the “points” you make are true.

We outplayed Wolves for the majority of the game. We threw the game away ourselves with 3 horrendous defensive errors. You can’t blame Mourinho for that.

Don't think we outplayed them, we did for the first 20 minutes but after that the game was anyone's to take and whilst individual errors didn't help and were the main cause, our defensive shape at all times looked awkward, at best, and didn't work, and then second half they got the better of us - bringing Traore inside and working overloads to get them running at our defence.

It was pure lottery football after the opening quarter.

I think we will - we need to start preparing for next season now in my view... and Troy wont be ready next season next season... him playing now i think would give him experience.

Jose not playign Troy isnt the reason we are where we are though

Our managerial appointments tend to follow a pattern nowadays:

Jol - Good
Ramos - Bad (Trophy aside)
Redknapp - Good
AVB - Bad
Poch - Good
Mourinho - Bad?

If Mourinho repeats history then it won't end well... but our next manager will be a success - mark my words

P.S. Not including Sherwood as he was only keeping the seat warm for the next manager.

Also not sure what point I'm trying to make in this post

I will say if you think we were shit for the whole game today then you genuinely were not watching us play. Bit tired of the hot fake takes coming from supposed fans.

You were one of the ones who campaigned relentlessly for Jose and now you're turning against him, Christ almighty :D

You were incessant us needing a new manager and piped up complaining about our style of play under Poch.

Do you even know what you want?

We just have to suck it up I'm afraid. This season is done with (which seems pretty strange to say given we are still in Champions league and FA Cup). Jose isn't going anywhere anytime soon it would be a PR disaster and I imagine very exepenive for the club and especially for Daniel Levy if he got rid of Jose now.

He has to be given time and obviously backing in the summer transfer window. Given realistic chance we won't be in Europe next season he is going to have plenty of time over next 18 months to work with what ever squad he assembles and to get us out of this mess.

I dont buy this transition bollocks
I don't see how that's a valid statement when clearly there's a changing of the old guard and a lingering smell of the old regime.

But yea, let's give Jose a good kicking again and put the blame squarely at his door because there's absolutely no other mitigating factors at play here....

Always said even before he got sacked that sacking Poch was the wrong decision, no manager in the world would do a better job than him

But I will give Jose time and I do feel for him because this squad is and was massively overrated. Davies meh, Rose gone, KWP loaned out, Aurier super inconsistent, Alderweireld & Vertonghen finished, Foyth still a rough diamond, Tanganga first season, Dier finished, Wanyama no knees, Ndombele fitness problems, Lamela always injured, Kane injury proved, Lucas painfully average

But he also repeatedly said before his first game that he loves this squad blablabla. This season isn’t a write off season because he joined mid season, we still need CL for us to grow as a club and buy better players

If only Levy and the board backed Poch after the 15-16 season or even worse the 16-17 season.....
I don’t think sacking poch was the wrong decision as it seemed to have run its course and there were no signs of things improving. We’d taken 25 pts from 25 games, relegation form but I starting to wonder if getting in another young progressive coach like nagglesman etc would’ve been a better way to go.

we actually played quite well today but we defended poorly. Jose is hamstrung by Kane and son being out but personally I’m nervous if we let him rebuild our team this summer is he the right man to mould a squad as if it all goes Pete tong then we’ll have another rebuild on our hands to Re-shape the squad again to something a young progressive more attacking coach can work with.

Kane and Son out would be hugely problematic for most managers but especially for a coach like Jose who is pragmatic and organises from the defence upwards, trying to be creative in the attacking personnel sense is not his forte.

very torn at the moment as on one hand the results have been a slight improvement generally and any manager would be struggling to achieve top 4 with out current squad and injuries however us getting turnedover twice so easily by Chelsea and playing so negatively in many games doesn’t bode too well for Jose being some sort of special level above manager and it doesn’t bode too well giving him the summer to re-build. However he certainly deserves the summer to re-build so we should really give him that and judge him from next season but personally I’m not quite seeing enough from a tactical standpoint or a style of play standpoint which gives me confidence that with players back from injury and a few signings we will suddenly be world beaters next season whereas with a young progressive coach such as nagglesman I’d be more inclinded to give them time.

we shall see, fingers crossed whatever happens we start going back in the right direction from summer onwards.
