Not away we didn't. And not when we were in a title challenging position.

The point I was making is the memories of spurs, and for me being there in the away end when Poch and the team came over to the fans at the end of the city league game which we won, there was a definite shift of mentality both from us and towards us. We were feared. And that made me feel good.
I didn’t want Poch to go but he left a mess for Mourinho to clear up. By the end of his time here he just run out of ideas and the ability to motivate the players.

I could understand saying he left a mess for Mourinho to clean up if he had walked but he was pushed out whilst trying to muck through. Ultimately it looks like the right decision for all parties as Jose looks like he's got the energy for a rebuild and I think Poch was burnt out.

Mate he'd lost the dressing room.
He didn't walk because he'd forfeit the payoff.
It was a bit of a mess.

I'm not saying he hadn't lost the dressing or it wasn't a mess, that looks to be correct on both counts. I'm just saying when people say a manager left a mess for somebody else to clear up it insinuates they didn't give a shit what state they left the club in as they went on their merry way which is a bit unfair on managers who were sacked.

For all those who accuse Jose of long punt upfield hopeful football I would like to declare Sheffield Utd as the current potential champions of that genre of football and look who are in 4th place.

Tottenham have long balls

The West Ham level of style over success shite in some of the posts in this thread is cringe on a scale I’ve never encountered before.

Quoting viewing figures and saying players would rather show off their semi-final wins than their domestic cup winners medals.

Worshipping the Champion’s League the competition that’s done more to hold Spurs back than any other given the financial advantage it’s given our rivals for 20 years.

Revising history to make out that Spurs have been the great entertainers who’ve given us hundreds of nights of orgasmic entertainment for the last 30 years, when the reality is we’ve been a boring bag of shite with a handful of special players and special one-off nights and results to spice things up and convince us we haven’t become West Brom.

Full scale head wobbling mentalism.

In full agreement mate having the odd one off special every now and then has kept us a bit relevant and provides column inches in the media.
But as you say it's been 30 years of flattery and disappointment by and large but drum roll we do have fan's who have signed up to it and are happy, so it seems spurs do deliver something on a regular basis for those special few. :joyful:

Jose Mourinho's dour approach = 25 trophies won

Pochettinos "you just have to believe" approach = 0 trophies won

It's a transitional moment, most are usually a slog so why not suck it up and remember that it's just a game and enjoy it for what it is? Your football club playing football

It’s not enjoyable, which I think was my point. I’d pretty much rather do anything else than watch us at the moment.

And change the record, we all know how decorated he is but his record in recent times is nowhere near what it once was. His record against top 6 teams, he’s won 1 of his last 10 games. He hasn’t won a knockout champions league tie in 6 years. The idea that his record automatically wipes out any concerns is just bobbins

As your previous message started

Is basically saying he's had to take a step down coming here and the question is who is a step up. I Think the list would be something like Man City, PSG, Bayern, Barca and Juve. City and Barca(maybe Bayern too)might be ruled out for footballing reasons but I could see the other two looking at him.

In short the way you were saying it is by coming to Spurs Jose had reached the bottom and he's lucky to get anything, when in reality he's at a club that is well inside the top 20 in the world and there aren't many better jobs out there..

Not at the bottom at all, but his stock without question has fallen which is why after about 15 years of having a boner for him and by paying way over the odds Levy has his man.

This "Mourhino long merchant " must stop now that the official premier league list of teams with the most long passes shows us in fact is we are 18th out of twenty on the list of long balls . You can call it boring or you can call it defensive but the facts are there and not so many long balls as people make out . So give the " long ball Mourhino " a rest and find something else to have a moan about .

Nothing wrong with mixing our game up Liverpool for all their exciting football sometimes use van dyke or Henderson to get it forward early, if it's good for a team that is about to complete a treble of trophies in a year it's good enough for us.

I bet if you asked any Leicester fan they wouldn't complain about the style of football when they won the league. Yes, they are playing some really good stuff at the moment under Rodgers, but if you look back to their Championship year it was much more Jose classic counter style under Ranieri.

Dier is done period. Time to sell him.
I think he still has some use for us at CB.

I'm very concerned that the game has evolved while Jose hasn't

He's obviously been an amazing manager in the past, he had a period of time where he was up there with the best in football (if not the best)

But the game has changed, so far it appears he is still trying to implement a style he had success with in the past

I hope it is as simple as him needing time to put his own stamp on the team and clean up the mess left to him

but I worry there are deeper issues with his style of management, his principals and tactics that have been left behind as football has stepped in to a new era

I think he and we will have to write this season off now (baring a miracle) and give him time to invest in the summer and cave the team in his image before we actually judge

My (uneducated) gut opinion, however, is that this will all end in tears and we really should have looked at a more up and coming progressive manager like the guy at RB Lepzig. I hope of course to be eating my words as Jose proves me wrong this time next year

Poch has gone and left winning nothing on the back of a year where he averaged a point a game, officially the worst of all teams to have played in the PL during that time so I think it's you that needs to change then record pal.
