@Lennon1981 what exactly are you disagreeing with that was litterally their team?

Because in my opinion they was a defensive bore. Hardly expansive at all. They were big, strong, powerful and FUNCTIONAL.

They did what needed to be done with zero swagger.

As for joe Cole, he coached the life and any attacking instinct out of at the time the most naturally gifted Englishman since Gazza.

That’s what he does, suffocates any attacking freedom out of his teams.

He played eto as a wing back for fuck sake

Bottom line I want us to win things obviously, but I don’t want to abandon our style to do it.

I don’t see why we have to. Klopp is doing it playing amazing football as is pep. And Poch came so close to doing it to.

I think that's a mythical, inaccurate extrapolation. He can suffocate attacking freedom at times, in my theory due to fear.
I don't think it is correct to say he suffocates attacking freedom as a general description.

Poch was all about being brave, it’s all he went on about.

I thing Jose is the opposite. His teams look scared to make a mistake through fear of Jose.

Which was my original point. Why go completely the opposite in his appointment.

The style of play we have been using was working it was just the message had grown tired. They needed a new voice that’s all. We didn’t have to strip it back and start all over again

A large part of why we constantly fail to win anything during the intervening years is mentality, apart from Jose no body associated with the club and or team has a proven winning mentality like his.
Jose is the sort of fella who would sell his nan if it meant winning and until the players current or future signings develop that same attitude the trophies will continue to elude us.

Who would you of appointed?

We had to replace Poch, so don’t say him.

Mate I did this yesterday and got ridiculed because apparently I didn’t know their names when I’m reality I couldn’t be bothered to look up the correct spellings as I know what the spelling police can be like on here.

So again anyone of the following teams managers... wolves, Southampton, Everton, Leicester, RB Leibzig. Inter Milan, Leeds

Basically someone cutting edge, on the way up not on the way down. Forward thinking. That improves players and plays high intensity attacking pressing football.

So basically anyone but Mourinho?

I’m not having a go but they’re all different managers and I’d say none of them are better than Poch except Ancelotti. But I expect Poch looked at him and his time at Bayern where he struggled to get the backing of the dressing room so went for Mourinho because he’s wanted him for a while. I really don’t think there was any option but to go with him. I think I would rather of kept Poch than get any of the ones you mention in fact and he was a busted flush.

Maybe Naglesmann just to see if it would be fun actually but none of the others are up to it. I think Levy would of gone for him too if he was possible to get out of Leipzig. I wouldn’t rule him out being here within the next 18 months actually.

h

The guy didn't enjoy our best side since the 60s under Poch. Never enjoyed the bale, modric , Van Der vaart period and cl run either. No cups innit.

But fucking can't wait to tell his grandkids about the time Allan neilsen scored the winner in the Worthington cup final. That's what made it all worthwhile.
I don't ever recall stating that I didn't enjoy this squad of recent years - quite the opposite actually in that it's been the most enjoyable years of supporting Spurs and one i've voiced on many occasions so absolutely a cheap point to make.

Well I would have rather kept poch than get Jose so maybe we should have just done that.

Jose has zero class. He eye gouges, he throws his players under the bus. He spots his dummy out when he doesn’t get what he wants. He’s just a **** to be honest.

And he’s Chelsea.

Wouldn't want Bielsa, he's just an older, shit Poch. His teams all seem to burn out by the final third of the season because he works them too hard.
The theory is there but it's impossible to implement because players aren't machines.

Mate don’t back track now. You was taking the piss out of me for enjoying the night in Amsterdam. I will never forget that night. So what if we didn’t win it? The emotions involved that night I didn’t think were possible in football.

Is he?

Quite clearly they are a superbly drilled outfit with quality all over the park but i'd say he's a lot more pragmatic now than he was a year or so ago when perhaps Liverpool were more entertaining yet more porous at the back.

You won't win anything without a solid base and that to me is where Jose needs to focus on first and foremost.

Just got to say, you’re overstating Joe Cole’s talent ever so slightly there! He was a bit of a myth as a footballer. He could dribble very well and had a trick up his sleeve, but he was already looking like a hype job when he left West Ham. I’d say Jose got more out of him than what anyone else would have.
