I'm with Glenn Hoddle on this, he was not impressed and he knows what he is talking about.

Yeah so how do you measure quality? Playing style, mentality, player abilities etc...? You can't surely just put it down to points, that's just far too simplistic.

The quality of the traditional top 6 wasn't really much better last season, we managed to pick up 13 points in 4 months and still finished 4th for example, Chelsea, Utd or Arsenal weren't much better themselves.

I wouldn't say everyone else in on par either, the quality of the promoted teams this season is of a higher standard.

Points, style of play, got to also factor teams going through transitions with new managers/players.

NBC have excellent coverage and I get to watch a decent amount of games, not sure about you?

You really think Norwich and Villa are better? Why and how?

You don't think he loves the club and wants the best for us?
Hoddle is entitled to his opinion of course and yes he wasn't impressed but Jose has won a stack of silver in what he does.
Admittedly he probably hasn't had a team quite as bad as we are right now so he will certainly earn his money, not sure if we can win anything under him but he is our manager so got to support him.

Points? again why? We would have won the league in 2017 in the majority of other seasons including the season before with the points tallies we collated (86)

Also style of play? So you can compare each team across the two seasons in that case? How many teams have gone backwards or re going backwards in playing style.

Yes Sheffield United are this season's Wolves if you like, Villa are certainly better than Cardiff and Norwich are better than Fulham, tactically and technically they are an improvement on the teams they replaced and they have better players.

I love that people mocked this like crazy at the time yet this formation became very popular. Maybe Glenn knew what he was on about all along.

It's always been Glenn's formation of choice, it was never some revolutionary idea that he had, he played with the 3-5-2 when he was England manager and his brief stint at QPR where he lasted 4 months playing this exact formation, all he did was pigeonholed our players into it and made a complete pig's ear of it.

I think that is more the players we had than the formation. Rose and Walker pushed high giving pace and width, Soldado with a strike partner, Chriches with Dawson able to support him. It’s pretty reasonable.

Pretty reasonable then you realise there's absolutely no creativity, no hold up striker or a striker who runs the channels, but apart from that...

You asked for my opinion I gave it. If you don't like it move on. I also believe the league was poor when Leciester won it too.

What lol? We're having a debate, that's generally how things work, are you new to forums?

If you can't handle a genuine rebuttal to your point then I suggest this place is better off for you, maybe?

What you seem to be getting confused about is that the league isn't poor just because the traditional top teams are under par, generally that means teams are taking points off each other and other teams are improving and thus closing the quality gap, this is certainly the case this season.

Yep back in contention because of Chelsea, it had nothing to do with us whatsoever, Christ almighty.
Well they only have 4 wins out of the last 14 which for a team looking for top 4 is utter shit. They, and any team capable of getting a top 4 spot would normally be well clear.
