The problems that were previlant in this squad have not gone away from the appointment of one man.

Poch's squad rebuild still needs to be completed. Jose has his work cut out to change the mentality into winners.

I think the getting the boys on side will stop now.

Honestly can you imagine either Son or Lucas getting in his Chelsea teams of old with their defensive performances?

The talk of technical training is all well and good but let's play some technical players. Let's get a grip of games and control them.

I understand why he has played so many forward players to get fans and players on side but he needs to start showing why he is regarded as the best tactician in the footballing world.

Hope we go into the transfer market in Jan. Would be happy to upgrade our GK, RB, LB or DM and whilst It will take a lot longer than one window i do think we need to address at least one area so there is not so much to do in the summer.

Really looked behind the times today, outcoached by Lampard
Sorry but I don't get these out-coached or tactically outsmarted views. Our squad is just too old and stagnant for anyone of them to wanna prove themselves anymore. Motivating these spoilt brats takes ALOT of effort. We are seeing the nice side of Mourinho to wanna get them to play for him for now because he has no choice until the transfer window and end of the season when he will move a large number of players on IMO.

We lost pathetically to united and these scums today where both of them had the same common factor, youth. These youths are so hungry like ours four seasons ago. Motivating them to play against us is never a problem. They will play to the best of their lives just to show they win over Mourinho Tottenham. Simple as that to me.

If we matched their intensity and motivation, and cut off our stupidity, a draw is never out of the question. Tactically outcoached will be a thrashing by them, which they didn't really seem like doing IMO.

The squad is letting Mourinho down greatly.

2 individual errors gave them two goals. Apart from those, how many chances did we actually give up in that first half? Next to none.

And how many did we create?

Not many, but how much of that is Jose's fault and how much of it is the lack of options in CM? Dier and Sissoko cannot move the ball forward (or move in general in Dier's case), Winks as shown against United gets overrun too easily, and Tanguy was just coming back from an injury so likely wasn't fit to play 90. Buy a proper DM and then I'll judge our chance creation.

We look like a middling club right now, up's and down's every match.

Far too much work needed knowing that the person with the cash is tighter than a parsons fucking nose.

What a colossal waste of money in the summer and a season as a whole.

I fucking hate Chelsea.

Hopefully we will draw in the FA cup. I don´t want any more of these full weeks to work with the players.

For all the years that he has been a thorn in our side I was very surprised how quickly a lot of our fans were so quick to hop on him and declare him our savior.

He had to win us over not the other way around. I didn’t like what we became over the end of Poch’s reign but he was always brave and had a philosophy that I cared for.

Jose has turned us into counter attacking cowards. I hope that today is a learning lesson for him but he still has to win me over. A few new manager wins never quite cut it for me.

I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s the right guy. Early days maybe but what’s with the team selection?

vs Utd and Chelsea we’ve been truly atrocious. As we were vs Wolves when we fouled a result.

Seriously, I get we need to improve the squad, but some of the selections I don’t get

this is the lowest I’ve felt for a long time as a fan

Jose's got to pull a real gem of a CDM out of somewhere in Jan.

It's going to be so crucial that he doesn't waste money as he wont be able to keep spending big here.

I wish he would try Foyth or Skipp there. Foyth can be careless in penalty box I guess, but he is at least mobile and likes to make forward passes.

It's very simple how we were out coached, but I've written about 343 against a back four dozens of times on here so I can't be arsed repeating myself. Chelsea caught us out because I don't think we were expecting them to play like they did during the week, but there was a couple of easy solutions that we could have done before the game to help us. Instead we waiting until half-time when the horse had already bolted. The fact that we were better defensively with Lucas playing terrible as a de-facto LWB should tell you all about why we lost.

I said before the Bournemouth game that the first time I'll judge Mourinho when we play a team using back five and a team who play with a similar attacking shape to us. It's something we struggled against under Poch and so far it hasn't been better. The frustrating thing is there's an easy solution.

Nah, the common factor was both those teams are half-decent and had an organised defensive shape that didn't leave them prone to getting counter attacked or allow our players to pick the ball up and run at the backline at will, whereas West Ham, Burnley, Belgrade etc. did and weren't good enough to stop it.

At the moment all our eggs are in one basket. Most weeks it might be alright, as we have seen thus far, but any team with a bit of quality or are just simply organised and can restrict space we'll continue to have problems because then our lack of control of games and the ball, and quite weak work without the ball, becomes an issue.

Agree I'd play skipp, but I think hed need 2 in the midfield with him as hes inexperienced. A 433, sissoko to the right and Ndombele to the left.

Youngsters. Yes.

The transitional teams like chelscum and United have youths aplenty and will click soon and be scintillating in the coming seasons. Citeh is showing the same problem as us when things don't get well, mature players have nothing to prove and will falter. When an Arsenal manager got their youths performing, it will be same.

Prospects with some seasoned veterans seem to be the only way forward. I think Mourinho knows and hence he has been saying next season will be the season we are contending for something.
