What's new

I've never disliked a Spurs squad more than this one

The entire squad is laced with players who don't seem interested, players who don't care and players who simply aren't good enough.
Take today. Naughton , Rose and Kaboul aren't good enough. Vertonghen head up his arse. Capoue strolling about not a care in the world. Eriksen non existent. Lamela his usual league self. Adebayor and Soldado offering virtually nothing. Not even mentioning Chiriches, Paulinho, Dembele.
Joke what's going on with this squad. No balls, no bite.

I'll continue to support the club but I don't give two ducks about too many of the current crop of players.

Dier, Mason, Kane. If they all played with their hunger and aggression we'd do alright.

If you are talking about hunger and aggression, Lamela was up there today with it when he came on.

Agreed. Normally I've been unimpressed with Lamela in the league, especially for the bigger matches, but he came in to put in a solid shift in this one. I was particularly impressed with how well he did after dropping into CM upon Capoue's departure. Bit ridiculous watching two of our lankiest kids flinging themselves at tackles with more resolve than even our best "destroyer."

This same bunch of players finished on 69 points with the chuckle brothers in charge.
They Cant be this bad, they just seem to be struggling in this system

Yeah but it helped there was a lot of belief at the beginning of the season, as well as fear from opponents, and we still beat the majority of the sides we were expected to beat. Suddenly, West Ham and Man City just broke it all wide open and exposed the team for how incredibly unbalanced, as well as mentally weak, they were.

I'd love them all if they played with Mason/Kane's passion

Townsend deserves mention too. No he hasn't been productive of late, but he clearly cares tremendously.

People often just watch him and moan when he makes a poor pass (which he only missed one pass today) or skies a shot, but what they aren't watching is the backpeddling and disorganization in the opposing back line his aggressive dribbling often creates, something most of our other attacking players don't induce at all.

I thought Mason, Lamela, Kane and Soldado all looked like they cared and were up for a bit of a scrap today. Incidentally, 4 of my favourite players. Not much of a coincidence.

It may have not been enough but he has been the only player IMO who gives it his all all the time. But what what you expect from someone biased towards young English "Talent"?

I wouldn't say I dislike this squad the most. I do feel that I have no attachment to them.

Some players are trying to put in a shift, but I do feel the naturally best players have one eye on an easy route to higher and better things by orchestrating a move a move if their needs are not satisfied quickly. That's the modern game.

I've said previously that I just look at spurs as watching a bunch of players on rent. We don't own the best ones. There's very little passion and care for the club and it's history.

Hence we don't sing their names and the atmosphere at the Lane is shocking.

I don't get it I mean we won today in the lat minute so they kinda had to put in a bit effort to do that right? Because you don't win a game in the last minute if you don't try right up until the last minute I think?

1 bad game from Rose this season and whoosh....he's suddenly not good enough.

On a not entirely differnet note, anyone notice the absolute disdain in Dembele's eyes when Poch threw his water bottle down?
