As others have said, it will probably be pretty clear whether or not we still have a chance about 15-20 minutes into the game.

We have players that can suddenly turn in outstanding performances (Bale, VDV, Lennon), and maybe...just maybe Pav and/or Defoe will be able to take a couple of chances that come their way.

I'm not getting my hopes up though.

How amazing would it be if Gomes came up for a corner in the 94th minute and scores the winning goal with an overhead kick from the edge of the box...

Carling don't make wet dreams, but if they did....

I hope our players are up for it and want revenge.
I hope they make it a night to remember for all those who have forked out mega bucks on tickets not just for this game but for the season and I hope they give a fitting finale which I expect it will be to the CL campaign.
We are playing Real Madrid FFS so no resting players nonsense.
It's possible I might be getting a ticket on the cheap so I expect us to do our duty.

You realise that if this doesn't happen, I'm hunting you down

The odds are against us but the important thing is we give it a hell of a go. If we can win 2-0 or something and put the wind up them and show Europe we are a good side, i will be happy. Of course it will then be pointed out that if we hadn't imploded in Madrid we would have gone through but that is gone now- let's show the world what Spurs are made of next week.

I think 2 nil at any time of the game makes it game on. Even if we dont score the second till the 80th minute, I'd still beleive that them final 10 minutes would be awesome

We'd score the 4th in the 93rd minute and concede a Ronaldo free kick in the 95th. now that would be Spurs

Can we score 4? of course we can, but can we keep madrid out at the other end while attacking? no i dont think we can, and as we all know, if Madrid score 1, we need 6, and that aint gonna happen.

Might stick a quid on it, just in case.

I'd fancy a comeback if the special one wasn't the manager..

A sending off, a penalty, an in-form Bale, Defoe's due a goal, Hudd's back, a weakened, overconfident Madrid side, another sending off and another penalty, Madrid lose thier heads.....

That course of events could see us 3-1 up at halftime and with the entire footballing world cheering us on for another 3 in the second half.

If it happens it WILL go down as the best tie in footballing history and the Spurs 2011 CL team will go down as the most exciting team there has ever been.

We're gonna fucking do it.

My missus is 'so adamant' we're not going to do it (and is sooooo annoyed by me insisting we're going to) that I'm allowed to name my first born child after a Spurs player if we go through. :)

Believe.

I still believe we're going to get through.

I've no idea why, I just get a feeling. It's written for us. I believe.

All we have to do is score one single goal.

We just have to do it five times.

It's not going to happen though - we'll draw the hime leg at the very best!

Anything is possible - anything.

Look at Newcastle against the goons. We'd need Real to combust in spectacular fashion, but who's to say Bale, with the leash off can't race into the box twice in the first 10 minutes, win two pens and cause two sending offs?

How many times have we done similar to ourselves?

It would never happen 11 v 11, but crazy things have happened in this game.

the comeback is not going to happen, but I'm desperate to beat those fuckers at the lane and will feel absolutely delighted if we do it.

I'm really pleased to see so many positive people on here. After the gloom and doom of a lot of posts over the last few days it's good to see fans haven't lost all hope in the team.

I just hope the players are as up for it as you all sound.

Wish I could be there, but I can't, however I'll be praying to the football gods that you guys have one helleva time next Wednesday. Bring 'em on!

That, sir, has just given me my biggest (almost only) smile since Tuesday night!

That's what I like to hear. Without belief, we've got nothing. It doesn't mattter how naive if it, how misplaced it is, how irrational it is, belief is the most important word in football. If White Hart Lane isn't absolutely Rocking and Rolling on Wednesday night, shaking the very infrastructure, then I give up. The team needs us. If we believe, they'll believe, and then, anything is possible.
