No, but I want to see us go down with all guns blazing. We have nothing to lose hence should go for it. The one positive for me is that Crouch is not playing hence we will actually play some football. We are a bloody good side when we do play football on the ground e.g. Chelsea at home last season!!!

I believe. And I'm pretty sure that probably no one believes it as much as I do. I am flying all the way to WHL from Malta Eek to witness this happening with my own eyes :hump:

I have travelled to see my heroes SPURS 20 odd times at WHL. During these visits in my many years of following Spurs, I am proud to say that, I have only see us loosing twice ! That in itself says a lot, of how important, my presence will be at the Lane on Wednesday :)

Our lads will be up for it, no problem. They were badly hurt last Tuesday and they will come out onto the lush turf at the Lane at precisely 19.40 hrs on Wednesday night, to the roaring crowd of the best supporters one could find on planet Earth !

They will not fear the Galacticoes and they will surely want to put the record straight, they will want to go down in the history books of World football as the men of all men, the best ever in human kind.

I'll be there, God willing to see it happen with my very eyes :beer:

Posted this in another thread, but is pertinent here too

"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination"

The Victor

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will.
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are out classed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of your-self before
You can ever win the prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can

surely one of the greatest comebacks ever was Newcastle scoring 4 goals in 19 minutes to draw 4-4

There are times at WHL, night games, where the crowd is rocking from before the first minute, where the players come out all a little taller, a little faster, a little more determined and even a little better looking than usual. This will be one of those nights. We are going to remember this forever. We are going to put the Madridistas to the sword like nobody would ever expect us to. It is going to be monumental, magnificent, magical. Every player who has been dragging his heels lately will spark into life and Madrid will not know what hit them. Just wait. I expect the tie to be level by the 60th minute. I can't wait. COME ON YOU SPURS!

And this is what will get us a 1-1 or maybe a 2-1 win.

I hope we lose 0-24 just so as I can see Harry get sacked.

He can also take that Rubbish, Bale and Modric and VdV with him while he's at it.

I want Sam Allardyce the tactical genius

For just a second there I thought you were serious.

im optimistic usually and would have thought it was possible if mourinho wasnt their manager..

I've got to admit if it was anyone but Jose I'd think we had a slight chance, but Jose knows how to shut-up shop. He'll probably name 6 defenders on the bench and if we score a goal he'll start bringing them on. Saying that I do expect us to win on the night.

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Tottenham will be playing FOUR-FOUR-FUCKING-TWO.

Same, but only 2-1 or something.

: For more than ten years there's been peace - everyone to his own patch. We've all had it sweet. I've done every single one of you favours in the past - I've put money in all your pockets. I've treated you well, even when you was out of order, right? Well now there's been an eruption. It's like fuckin' Belfast on a bad night. One of my closest friends is lyin' out there in the freezer. And believe me, all of you, nobody goes home until I find out who done it, and why.

Harold Shand the Long Good friday.
I'm not sure what's that got to do with anything but come on let's have it we can do it.

Although I doubt it, I know it actually is. Well, nothing is impossible. We'll be home, the fans will be vociferous and I hope, I really hope, we go for it and produce a display worthy of all that (in our European campaign) preceeded Tuesday's debacle.

I don't want a half-hearted display. I want us to go for it, to go down fighting like warriors. Anyway, to keep my mood optimistic I looked up two legged European comebacks and noted, that whilst there didn't seem to be a recovery from 4-0, I was actually at one game mentioned.

Back in 1987 I saw Werder Bremen beat Spartak Moscow 6-2 after losing the first leg 4-1. I remember it mostly because it was 4-1 at full time and due to heavy mist one of the guys with me had 'missed' a goal, and thus couldn't understand why we weren't leaving at the end of the 90 minutes!

The greatest comeback, it seems, was Bayer Uerdingen's 6 goals in the last 30 minutes against Dynamo Dresden in 1986 which saw a 1-5 deficit transform into a 7-5 win.

I must add I was also at (the one off) Spurs/United in 2001. It's a comeback I'd like to forget. I will never forget the guy next to me saying at half time, "I'd feel more confident if we had scored four".

Now Real have four and I'm less confident than that guy, but I do know that things can change quickly in football. You must never stop believing, dreaming and praying to the football gods (I did a lot of that as a kid).

So, even though it's very unlikely, never say never. I live in hope and wish I could be there next week with all you who are lucky enough to have a ticket. I'll be getting up at 1:30 in the morning and believing the greatest comeback of all time is about to unfold! Bring it on!

anything is possible, but the players must BELIEVE... I enjoyed the 5-1 victory and out comment from Mr. Pink :up:

I admit this is a lot different than moaning about signing Raziak and struggling with relegation... :razz:

Now we're moaning about probably being knocked out by Real Madrid in the CL QF :violin:

either way, we support and the players play -- COYFS!!!! :clap:

TBH I don't really think it is that important if it is possible. I will be screaming my head orf that it happens, and urge everyone else to do the same. A win will see us emergencing with our reputation pretty much in tact (as in, yeah we got stuffed under unfavourable circumstances away, but won the home leg).

Then, really, who knows. As someone else said, if we get an early goal, they get a right-back (for instance) sent off, etc.

But just go for the win...is all:up:

If anyone can go and grab two early goals, it's us. However, I think they will score at least one.

I think we'll win. That, at this point, will be enough for me. obviously love more but to show what we're really capable of will be a decent way to go out. We'd then have beaten Werder Bremen, Inter, AC Milan and Real in our first CL outing - who can seriously ask for more? If that's not enough, it's not enough
