Not long woken up from a short dream where Harry scored for Man U on his debut - I asked him: ‘why du leave?’
he responded ‘where are spurs going, what’s their direction?’ I woke up disheartened… took me a few minutes to realise he’s still our player:sleep:

I agree about the money. But Kane may value winning the Premier League far more than any trophies he would win in Germany.

Bayern Munich are a massive club, but Germany is maybe the third or fourth most illustrious league in Europe, behind The Premier League and La Liga, and arguably Serie A, too, in terms of prestige over the years.

Maybe he just wants to win anything and winning the Bundesliga is still winning a major trophy. But surely this kind of thinking must factor into his decision making, given the confirmed offers he will start receiving in January, provided he stays inury-free.

Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern is equivalent to scoring in a Brothel.

The more I think about it the more I feel that the chances of Kane staying beyond next season are increasing.

if Man City wanted him they would have stumped up the cash last year. It appears that most of the noise about Kane moving there was coming from the cockwomble. IMO City would pay the money for a longer term striker if Haaland goes rather than take a 32 year old whose career is coming to a close.

That leaves the rest. We are not “That Far” behind the others. With the right manager, which we appear to have finally landed, and the right investment in the defence we will be in the mix for CL football 24/25.

Bar City there is no other team in the PL who are guaranteed trophies.

If we get everything aligned this season and really have a go, I can see Kane staying.

Big onus on us getting it right this season, but it is not absurd to think we can finish top 4.
We really are that far behind the likes of City, Arsenal, Newcastle, and probably Liverpool. And then another tranche of sides like united and maybe one or two others.

And theres no way more top 4 participation is enough for Kane anymore. To his credit, he's well beyond that.

It's one of the great things about footy that there's always a close season and some hope and optimism around next season. But Spurs fans need a bit more realism about how atrocious we were last year. It's going to take time to turn that ship around. The squad is a mess. The new manager has to handle that while evolving a risk averse side to becoming a much riskier one.

And Kane on a free is a nice option for everyone, including City.

I personally can't wait to see what Ange can do for us. He has earned a reputation for turning stuff around quickly and getting players to buy into his ideas. We've just had a few years of mind numbing football from 2 egocentric drama queens who should never have been near the place. Maybe that's blind optimism but I do have a mate who is a Rangers fan (variation on a theme!), and he is absolutely made up that we've got Postecoglou. He reckons he'll get us firing again in no time and Celtic will slip away again with Rodgers.

We were last season, but the season before we were ahead of both Arsenal and Newcastle. This season, who knows? Noone expected Arsenal and Newcastle to perform as they did.

Exactly
The squad is a mess.
I don't think it's much different from the last time we got top four. I think the right manager could get our squad, with the additions we are making, performing well enough for top four and CL again.
Winning the league would take several years of financial doping or a Leicester-like miracle. If Harry wanted to go to somewhere guaranteed to win the league he's missed out now that Harland's at City. United might have a better chance than us, but still not much of a chance. Bayern guaranteed to win a league title if he went there but why would Harry care about that title.
I think he stays this season.

This narrative that Kane is at the very end of his career is really interesting. The guy is 29 yet people seem to think he’s really old.

End of his contract next year he’ll be 30 and on a free transfer
Without splitting hairs at the start of the 24/25 season he will be 31. And that is definitely not at the peak of his career.
I am not saying that we will not have potentially 4 or 5 years left playing, but not at a team like city.

The way Kane takes care of himself, coupled with him not having had any pace for years anyway, suggests to me he will continue to play at a very high level until after his mid 30’s. Look at Benzema, Lewandowski and Ibra. He’s in that bracket.

Is that worse or better than the masturbation he’d be limited to at Spurs?

Only trophies he has won, and most likely will win, with us are individual ones.

Can’t wait to see the documentary on his 1st year in Germany.

Working title is “Auf Wiedersehen, obviously”

If that was £ I’d start to worry but I don’t see that being enough in €. I guess it depends on the add ons but I doubt it will be a significant amount.
