Who else is following the golf this week? What a first round by amateur Tom Lewis! He's also a local lad so I'll be cheering him on (after the players I have money on...)

Conditions are meant to be good this morning, but awful for the weekend. I fancy McDowell to fill his boots this morning.

I'll be keeping an eye on it this weekend. The Open is always relatively hilarious because it makes some of the best players in the world look like me.

I think if Luke Donald can have a good day today he'll be there or thereabouts but my gut tells me it'll be a random winner again.

Anyone else think that Tom Lewis looks like a younger version of Pav?

Darren Clarke you legend. What a few years for Irish golf, both north and south of the border.

He really deserves this, considering the lows and grief he had in his life a few years ago with his wife dying. Well done big man.

Delighted for Clarkie. Absolutely delighted. That's going to be a very popular win among the world of golf. Did you see how many of the players came up to congratulate him. Loved that Phil Mickelson was the first up to him. Both have had tough times with both wives having cancer, and they just hugged and had a word or two. Really nice touch.

Ireland dominating world golf at present. :)
