Get Rid of Zokora!

It's amazing how little about football so many of our fans actually know.

Have you seen something in Zokora many of us that know so little about football, haven't seen in him.

The bloke offers NOTHING. nothing at all. He may intercept the odd pass here and there but then so would anyone of us that played DM for 90 minutes. He cannot pass a fucking football to a team mate even over a very minimal distance. And when they bloke sits in a CD hes clueless. Did you actually see him the other night whilst a Centre Back he turned his back fully as one of their players took a shot and it hit him on the arm, its pathetic that anyone totally turns away from the ball during play.

I could live never seeing Zokora play another match in a spurs shirt at best he is average but i don't know much about football, so it may well be he's just disguised as a footballer with very little talent.

Yep. While he's not the greatest player ever & maybe not a first choice he's a good player to have in the squad being able to play anywhere across the back 4 as well as his favoured midfield role. I don't think he's been helped by the lack of a quality midfield partner in his time here either.

I don't post on here that often because there are the same usual arrogant posters who immediately attempt to put you down if you have a differing view to them. This therefore turns into a board for the common minded rather than a discussion forum. The thing I find even more snidey is when one of them leaves a little line to congratulate the other on their insult. This isn't clever -its pretty pathetic and people (they are in general Spurs supporters after all) should be respected on this board regardless of their views or their ability to articulate them.

I personally am not a fan of Zokora (not Zakora smug earlier poster - check the Spurs website) as I feel he offers little. He is often caught in possession in areas of danger and his poor passing is often intercepted. It is true he does possess a nuisance value and can break down effects, but when he wins the ball he is likely to present it straight back to the opposition. He can break out with the ball but this tends to result in him overrunning the ball and looking for cheap free kicks. His shooting is shocking and his inability to pass is what results in him going backwards or sideways. Trying hard should not be a reason to be in the team - that should be a pre-requisite of every Spurs player. The difference between Zokora and Makelele is that he could break up play, hold the ball and pass. He did score the odd goal as well if you remember - one was against us!

Rant over. Get off your high horses. If you are so superior in your opinion, articlate it and stop making childish remarks.

Has anyone else been puzzled by how Didier Zokora has managed to become a professional footballer.

1. He has never scored for us.
2. When has he ever assisted for us?
3. He cannot use his left-foot at all.
4. He only passes sideways and backwards.
5. The only thing he can (run with ball in straight line) has never led anywhere.
6. He does not protect our back 4.
7. he does not provide attacking opportunities.
8. No one knows what role he has in midfield.
9. He gives away stupid free-kicks.

After all that why is he in our team, he is without doubt the worst spurs player ive seen in a long time. GET ZOKORA OUT!

When has he assisted for us? With four midfielders in there with him like Lennon, Jenas, Modric and Bale, does he need to be the one creating goals?

The thing is, I know Zokora isn't the greatest player to have worn our lillywhite, but to dismiss him on this seasons performances are bad. He's been one of our best players. That doesn't say alot because we've not been as good as we'd have hoped... but he LOVES our club, and when we have the likes of Bentley in our squad, that alone will make me stick up for him every time.

Martin Jol - who is now seen as a genius by everyone on this forum - played him every week. Ramos - who was seen as a genius before this recent run of form - plays him every week.

Does that not give you an insight into the fact that he's not that shit?

It isnt the individual points that make me think the way i do about him, it is all 9 collectively that make me come to this conclusion. IMO Zokora is utter rubbish if you dont agree then prove why he is actually a good player for us. For me he adds nothing to our team. He was meant to be a tought tackling midfielder with bags of energy, he may run around a lot but he does little else. And he certainly does not protect our back 4 which is what i thought was his role. He was signed as a replacement for Carrick, a DM after all.

Think dropping Zok was a big reason we played such flowing football today and the midfield and attack linked up well.


He slows down play so much and your essentially a player down in midfield because he cant pass the ball forward.

Posts like this make me think - if only for a second - that we deserve what we're getting.

Some of our fans are complete numpties. I used to think they were attracted to the web, that they could voice their opinions on a forum such as SC because they weren't loud enough to voice them in the ground/pub.

But I think SC is mild compared to where I sit in east-upper. I don't get to the lane much anymore because of work... but I hate going to the lane. And it's not because of the football - it's because of fans who throw up horse shit like this.

I sit in the east upper mate, i'm a few games away from going with cotton wool in my ears. I've had a few run ins with some idiots because I really can't take the reactionary crap I hear week after week. I still love going to the lane though!
